The FINAL mayor's gala open house bus tour

We can only hope.   But it is OBVIOUS that houses are NOT selling in Schenectady because they are not holding this over the summer, and last year they DID have open houses during the summer.

But LOOK everyone, LOOK how many REPEAT appearances (listings highlighted in green).   EVIDENCE that houses are NOT selling in Schenectady.

And look at the new listeings - MORE PEOPLE FLEEING THE CITY!!!

Few things to note:

--   House on Ave H is woefully outdated, I mean really, a blue bathtub?   Listing says it needs "TLC" and mentions the bathroom in the basement is not working - CODE VIOLATION!!!    And they are SO EMBARRASSED about the super high taxes, that they listed the taxes WITH all the exemptions---too embarrassed to state the true taxes.

--   House on Front St (no, not Morris') has been listed since May 2011.   TWO YEARS NO ONE WANTS TO BUY IN SCHENECTADY!   Inititally they listed it for $275,000, asking price had been reduced to $237,000, and STILL no one wanted to buy it! Took it off the market for a short time, then listed it with McC's political hack on the assessment board.   TALK ABOUT AN IGNORAMUS.   A house is listed for two years, asking priced reduced to $237,000, no buyers, take it off the market for a few months while home sale prices fall, and then McC's political hack lists it with an asking priced $20,000 HIGHER than the last price that no one wanted to buy for?   WTF????

And take note.  The house is assessed for $250,000 making the TAXES SO UNGODLY HIGH that McC's political hack on the assessment board chooses to state the taxes as they are WITH the Sr Star AND with old age and veterans exemptions which lowers the taxes by a few thousand, BUT, there Schenectady can't even attract young couples to buy a house, and taxes without those old age exemptions exceed $12,000!

-- House on Glenwood - City doesn't proofread, the asking price is now down to $129,000.   But funnier is the city insists it will sell for $182,000 - look at the asessed value per the city!

How successful is the mayor's taxpayer funded home selling program?   Gee, this has been listed about five time as part of McC's gala bus tour and it STILL HAS NOT SOLD?????    WHY?????

--   House on Lexington Pkwy -  Asking almost a quarter million dollars for W2W carpeting instead of hardwood floor?   And WOEFULLY OUTDATED blue carpeting!!!!!!   ICK wallpaper in the dining room, and a room with paper border OUTDATED.

Oh, the listing tries to appease prospective buyers buy saying "owner grieving taxes."    Too bad they won't have an answer by Sunday because, we all know that even though McC's political hacks on the assessment board signed their decisions and envelopes were all stuffed on May 30, they won't mail them in time for buyers to find out the result by Sunday's open house.   But then, we all know the answer anyway, "denied, insufficient data."

--  House on ManchesteR - Another house, been listed for two years already, NO ONE WANTS TO BUY A HOUSE IN SCHENECTADY, asking price lowered to $135,000 and upon changing to McC' political hack Mary Mary, she increases the asking price, increases it higher than the assessed value in fact!   What an IGRNORAMUS!

--  House on Waverly - Been listed since 2011 and has not sold after two years!.   Why?   Because NO ONE wants to buy in Schenectady - this is MORE EVIDENCE of the TRUTH about Schenectady.    And look at it, it's empty, the owners have already fled.

--  House on Ray Ave - Listed with a realtor now, apparently by owner previously, but realtor incresed the asking price?   Owners already fled, it's empty

Let's see if those to claim the city is improving can explain why people are NOT buying houses in the city.   Hmmmm???????

You all notice that DV is too cowardly, not man enough to explain the relationship of his claim of the city improving with these houses that won't sell despite extra efforts, special tours, and all kinds of other enticements.

Avoid speaking when you know you can't provide anything to support what you say.

In view of the failure of the taxpayer subsidized McC home selling program, still no explanation of how there is a renaissance in the city---from those, the lone person who claims there is a renaissance in the city.

Wonder why he avoids comment?

From today's taxpayer funded newsletter about McC's home selling program

Unmatched service?

Gee, anyone notice how few of Mary Mary's houses are selling?   Unmatched service is the term to use when it takes 6 months, a year, two years to sell a house, and then it sells for way below what the city claims it's worth and then what kind of service does McC's pollitical hack Mary do when the house sells for #0%, 40% below what the city claims it's worth, and all houses are selling for that much below what the city claims they would sell for, and people put in a grievance to say there houses are not worth what the city claims, and McC's home seller political hack from Prudential Manor homes tells the people that she will not lower their asessment because there is no proof that the houses are worth less.

McC keeps saying that affordability is the best in Schenectady.

Why does he NEVER tell the truth that buying a home in the city means a losing investment?

Let us remember the TRUTH

Here is what the mayor and his political hack Mary Mary stated in a taxpayer funded newsletter in January:

And here is what he REAL TRUE OFFICIAL RECORDS, based on deeds filed state for the same perod:

Notice, the mayor spends taxpayers money to claim that 367 houses sold in his Homes program.   But the official records based on deeds show that only 266 houses in the city sold.

Please, everyone needs to be squeaky wheels and keep repeating the truths about the city and the mis-use of tax dollars and the lies the city tells.

We all want Schenectady to improve, and the only way it's going to improve is if we keep repeating the truths over and over and over again.,   The people in Schenectady need to know how their tax dollars are being wasted in a program that cause people to be underwater on their mortgage, to be wasted on printing lies, to be wasted giving tax exemptions to millionaires and billionaires downtown, and to be shown the true numbers that show that the city's tax base is falling big time as a result of all the tax money being spent on downtown!

Interesting, I don't see my house on that list. (Should it be on that list?)

But anyway, you can include me on that 'Owner fled, house empty' list come the first week in Aug.

Well Buck, you should at least inquire (pretend) of Mary Mary.   Go over to Prudential, tell them you'd looking to sell and ask how you get listed on McC's bus tour.   See if they put houses on the tour at owner's request, or is that initiated by Mary Mary.

Tell them your house is aasessed for X but all the houses are selling much below that, ask them how much they would think you could get.   If they tell you something similar to the assesed value, ask them what basis do they determine it could be sold for that much.

Play along, report back here.   ROFL

Ask them how low of a price you should list for if you want to sell within three months.         I'd love to know their answer

I think they count those "owner fled, house empty, sold at giveaway price to "I Buy Houses" group houses among their success stories. I know that there was a house over Buck's way that HAD to be sold over a legal matter, this was around the time the house tours were starting, the guy ended up having to let it go for around $35,000. A real shame.
I'd like to know how some of these vacant houses that don't have a bank involved are remaining on the market with a negligible drop in price for YEARS, while other comparable houses go for tens of thousands less. Someone told me that lawyers get involved and purchase an estate sometimes, and I'dlike to know how that works - do they get to write off the taxes or something? One house has gone from $135,000 or so to $119,000 in three years and you can see it rotting away. The taxes are over 7 grand so I don't know how they can hold out for more money. These vacant houses getting left to rot in decent areas are a problem, because people who are seriously trying to sell their homes are impeded by these hulking derelicts nearby. McCheese would do better looking after these issues than trying to peddle real estate without a license.

My neighbor who's house is assessed at $138,000 called the "I buy houses " guy and got an offer of $31,000.

I discussed selling it with no money down, as a rent with option to buy lease, with him.

Taxes are nearly $400 a month.

Wonder how many houses received accepted offers this past Sunday.

Where's that guy who is shaking pom poms, proclaiming the city is improving?    TOTALLY SILENT
