I'm fine with the guy having freedom. Dropping off a person with sobriety issues at that location is not helping and has nothing to do with freedom, IMO. He didn't get there by himself. I also question why Schenectady has to be the repository for everybody with problems. We reached critical mass a longtime ago. Bethesda House. Sheesh.
Here's a thought I had last night when once again I heard helicopters flying around overhead. Helicopters are expensive to run, but they are flying over Schenectady all the time. Hospitals are expensive to build, but look at Ellis, they don't fully serve the community any more but they are ever expanding. I see ostentatious displays of wealth seemingly from nowhere in this city all the time. Yet in Schenectady, the premiere human landfill of New York State, we aren't getting our hands on any of that money floating around. Our local legislators need to turn this around. Judges mandate that criminals move here to serve probation. Parolees are dumped here. NYC sends its non-productive element up here for us to deal with. We are a hole in a doughnut of affluence. You want us to take your addicts, your criminals, your delinquents, your kids that are failing in school, we should get some compensation for this. Why should people here, who did nothing wrong, lose their homes because the school needs more and more "programs" to deal with kids from the Bronx who are going to drop out anyway?
If the laws don't help us with this economic warfare against Schenectady, our legislators need to do something about the laws. There is so much free government money floating around here, where's our share? |
