Quoted Text
His departure came a day after the United States made a formal request for his extradition and warned Hong Kong against delaying the process of returning him to face trial in the U.S.

The Hong Kong government said Snowden left "on his own accord for a third country through a lawful and normal channel."

It acknowledged the U.S. extradition request, but said U.S. documentation did "fully comply with the legal requirements under Hong Kong law." It said additional information was requested from Washington, but since the Hong Kong government "has yet to have sufficient information to process the request for provisional warrant of arrest, there is no legal basis to restrict Mr. Snowden from leaving Hong Kong."

The statement said Hong Kong had informed the U.S. of Snowden's departure. It added that it wanted more information about alleged hacking of computer systems in Hong Kong by U.S. government agencies which Snowden had revealed.

Rand Paul Warns Edward Snowden: Don't Cozy Up To The Russians

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), one of the few public officials sympathetic toward Edward Snowden
warned the national security leaker on Sunday not to cut deals or cozy up to any government at the risk of
losing credibility.

LMAO!  Randy Paul was hoping to use Snowden as a stepping stool in 2016... Paul's worried
that Snowden won't follow orders and screw up his Presidential Campaign Ad.

I think it helps his credibility when he has to run to countries we see as harsh to protect himself from our government, what does that say about us.

I guess you're saying that the USA should be more like socialist Russia or maybe even Cuba.

Yea... lets see how happy Henry is living under the rule of those countries!

Great post Henry!

and of course we have lost sight of the fact he has more intelligence matter with him and that
the countries he is visiting are more than likely mining that information while he is there....
don't think they are just entertaining him as some freedom fighter...
they are using him and getting what they can from him.
THAT'S WHERE THE DAMAGE REALLY IS!!!!

Oh I agree he needs to be careful, Hong Kong already told Washington they want more info on the hacking of their computers. Truth is though other countries are pissed because it came out we were tapping leaders and diplomats from other countries. It would be like finding out China has been wire tapping all the Whitehouse and Pentagons phones, we wouldn't be happy either and rightfully so. So far nothing he released harms our national security but instead revealed how crumby our government has been acting, that is the reason they want him so you and me won't find out how far the NSA has violated us.

They already do, and so does Russia and other countries...and they know we do too,
just not sure how deep we can go, so Snowden can give them a lot of intel they would love to have.

I would love to know what he has, this effects us all especially if they're spying on millions of Americans. 1st they lied about keeping data. Then they said they couldn't listen to our calls, that was a lie, what else are they lying about.

Ecuador's foreign minister confirms on Twitter that NSA whistle-blower has applied for asylum.

Last Modified: 23 Jun 2013 19:21

Edward Snowden has applied for asylum in Ecuador hours after leaving Hong Kong amid US attempt to extradite him to face espionage charges.

Snowden, who has revealed details of vast spying programmes by the US, flew from the Chinese territory to Moscow on Sunday and was reported to be meeting the Ecuadorean ambassador in the Russian capital after applying for asylum.
