Cissy would rather that the rest of us (Not Cicero but everyone else) should be FORCED to pay for those who don't buy health care insurance then they show up at the ER and demand to be treated.
The fact remains, Cicero was wrong about women not needing contraceptive or maternity coverage after menopause. (I wonder if Cicero would pay for her abortion or her maternity bills.)
No, you would have the rest of us pay. I would leave it up to the individual to pay. I don't want you paying for me or deciding the coverage I need. You are fine with forcing everybody to pay for coverage they will never use, because any government force to extort money from people is good. You enjoy extorting money from people that can never get pregnant, in order to pay for other people's maternity care. Even if your uterus is removed - you still have to pay. Even granny has to pay for maternity care, cuz ya never know. And granny is incapable of making that decision.
You are a collectivist. You hate individuals. You hate the thought of personal responsibility.

How about the women that have had complete hysterectomies? The financing of the ACA depends on people who will most likely not need care (the young) and forcing the rest of the signees to buy a one size fits all policy in regard to coverage (NOT including deductibles).

ObamaCare allows those who are responsible citizens to purchase affordable health care. Many of the uninsured are small businessmen who are priced out of individual health plans. With ObamaCare they can now afford to BE RESPONSIBLE and buy insurance.
The leading cause of bankruptcy in 2010 was due to a medical catastrophe. With no affordable health care insurance, responsible people were doing with out health insurance and when a medical emergency happened, they had no choice but to go bankrupt... And when they did... the rest of us PAID THEIR MEDICAL BILLS!

An average of 16,375 teenagers 12-19 years died in the United States every year from 1999 to 2006. This is less than 1 percent of all deaths that occur every year in the United States. The five leading causes of death among teenagers are Accidents (unintentional injuries), homicide, suicide, cancer, and heart disease. Accidents account for nearly one-half of all teenage deaths.
The carefree teenager or young adult think that they are bulletproof... yet they are seriously injured in car crashes every day. They think that don't need Health Care Insurance... and when they get hospitalized from a car wreck, WE PAY THEIR BILLS.

So you want to force insurance on the 22 million in the 15-19 demographic because of 16,000 deaths? Maybe they think they are "bulletproof" because 99.95% aren't going to die from injury or illness. If I'm an insurance actuary, I LOVE my odds.

But there's the rub, they DO think they are indestructible, therefore they will pay the penalty.. They won't feel it, because most of them get a refund from the Feds anyway, they'll just get less now. The real catch 22 is, if they do need extended health care because of a serious issue, they can sign up without penalty of a pre-existing condition. As far as NYS is concerned, no fault kicks in so they are covered for vehicle accidents.

IF those 16,000 deaths take your advice and have no Health Insurance, WE PAY THE BILL. Assuming that most that are seriously injured don't die, they spend long days, weeks and months hospitalized, then, enter rehab or physical therapy... and since you advised them not to buy health insurance, WE AGAIN PAY THEIR MEDICAL BILLS.
You do understand that don't you Cicero... If they are injured and have no insurance...WE PAY. Against our will, WE PAY. With out any say in this issue, WE ARE FORCED TO PAY!

If the teen or young driver has a valid auto insurance policy, SO DID THEY.

According to a 2009 US Census Report, 50.7 Million People are uninsured in the United States. That is 16.7% of the population. Or one of every six people.
The cost of health care for the uninsured is paid for by the government and by increased costs to everybody else. Both of these costs are passed on to us in taxes, premiums, and co-pays. We all pay for the uninsured!
Families USA reports health insurance premiums increased in 2010 to pay for the health care costs of the uninsured. Families pay an extra $1,502 per year, and individuals pay an extra $532 per year. This does not include additional government expenditures paid by Medicare, Medicaid, tax incentives, and other government programs, which we also pay for in taxes. The report estimates the cost of the uninsured will top $60 Billion in 2010.
The uninsured use the emergency room for the majority of their medical treatment. In one county in Texas nine people accounted for 2,678 visits over a six year period, costing an estimated $3 Million dollars. And there are 50.7 Million uninsured people in America.
You can keep being forced to pay for the uninsured if you want to... I prefer ObamaCare.

One study by a health economist at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, shows that uninsured patients pay 2.49 times more for the same procedures at a public hospital, than those covered by private health insurance. The ratio was even higher at for-profit hospitals charging 4.10 times more for the same procedures. The uninsured paid 3.07 times more than the Medicare rates paid to Hospitals.
Allowing minor medical conditions to go untreated or preventative medicine to be ignored will only increase the cost of health care in later years of life. Immunizations, examinations, and keeping people healthy is much cheaper than allowing problems to fester and later become much more expensive medical emergencies. When people become very sick and can’t keep a job, or reach the age of 65 years, they are covered under Medicare or Medicaid. Later, more expensive years of life that will be covered by government funding and our tax dollars.
Health care costs for the uninsured are paid for in higher costs, higher premiums, and government programs paid for with tax dollars. We already pay for the uninsured. The question is, how do we reduce health care costs we already pay for? We reduce costs with preventive medicine and keeping Americans healthy.

In February 1974, Republican President Richard Nixon proposed, in essence, today's Affordable Care Act. It went nowhere then because Democrats had their sights set on a single-payer "socialized medicine" approach that would be funded through a payroll tax, just like Social Security and Medicare.
"Thirty years later, a Republican governor, Mitt Romney, made Nixon's plan the law in Massachusetts," Reich writes. "When today's Republicans rage against the individual mandate in the Affordable Care Act, it's useful to recall this was their idea as well."
See the crazy turns history often takes? Who says the universe doesn't have a sense of humor. Or irony.
The value to society of shifting the cost burden of millions of uninsured Americans off of taxpayers and onto health insurance companies -- a shift, it should be noted, that health insurers welcome with open arms -- far outweighs a couple of months of website troubles.
And without the vision of President Barack Obama -- and ironically, that of Republican President Richard Nixon as well -- this small step toward a potentially better life for millions of our fellow Americans would not have happened at all.
