A strong jobs report pushed up the stock market higher Thursday, with the Dow Jones industrial average crossing 17,000 for the first time. The Department of Labor said employers added 288,000 workers last month, and the unemployment rate fell to 6.1 percent. |

The Wall Street Journal reports that people in states like Massachusetts, California, and Nevada selected and paid for a private health insurance plan through state-run exchanges, only to find that they were not insured. Others have waited futilely for changes to their coverage brought about by marriage, childbirth or other "life events" to take effect.
As a result, some say they have put off seeking medical treatment or have paid out of pocket for certain expenses.
In Nevada, approximately 150 people have turned to litigation, filing a class-action suit against the state-run exchange and Xerox Corp., which helped set it up.
One of those plaintiffs, Robert Rolain, tells the Journal that he signed up his wife, Linda, this past October for a health plan through the state exchange that was due to take effect March 1. In the interim period, doctors found a tumor on his wife's brain and planned surgery. When Rolain brought his wife to an oncologist to have the procedure done, he was told she wasn't covered, and the surgery was pushed back two months, to May 14. A little more than a month later, Linda Rolain was dead. |

Americans Are Happy With ObamaCare!
A new Commonwealth Fund survey finds that people who signed up to purchase health insurance through the Obamacare exchanges are pleased with their purchases.
New York Times: "It found that about 15 percent of adults younger than 65 now lack health insurance, down from 20 percent before the Affordable Care Act rolled out in January. What was more surprising is that people who got the new coverage were generally happy with the product. Overall, 73 percent of people who bought health plans and 87 percent of those who signed up for Medicaid said they were somewhat or very satisfied with their new health insurance. Seventy-four percent of newly insured Republicans liked their plans. Even 77 percent of people who had insurance before -- including members of the much-publicized group whose plans got canceled last year -- were happy with their new coverage." |

U.S. Has Gained 9.2 Million Jobs Since Recession's Lowest PointThank You President Barack Hussein Obama! FORBES http://www.forbes.com/sites/da.....onomys-lowest-point/
Wow! That's great! The US population was 306 million in 2009, now it's 316 million. So less jobs were created than the population growth. |

Fed: Under Obama, only the richest 10 percent saw incomes rise Under President Obama, the richest 10 percent were the only income group of Americans to see their median incomes rise, according to a survey released this week by the Federal Reserve. The Fed data covered the years 2010-2013, during which period Mr. Obama constantly campaigned against income inequality and won re-election by painting his Republican rival as a tool of Wall Street plutocrats. “Data from the 2013 [Survey of Consumer Finances] confirm that the shares of income and wealth held by affluent families are at modern historically high levels,” the report said in noting that the median income fell for every 10-percent grouping except the most affluent 10 percent. “The 2013 SCF reveals substantial disparities in the evolution of income and net worth since the previous time the survey was conducted, in 2010,” the report stated. The SCF is conducted by the Federal reserve triennially and compiles information about family incomes, credit use, net worth and finances Read more: http://www.washingtontimes.com.....hile-/#ixzz3CRjoS4vd |

Majority happy with ObamaCare plans
Quoted Text
A majority of people who signed up for ObamaCare over the last year are happy with their plans, despite widespread discontent over how they signed up, according to a new poll.
About 70 percent of people who bought healthcare plans through government exchanges said they were happy with their plans and believed they would receive high-quality care, according to a tracking survey by the Commonwealth Fund, a nonprofit policy group.
