Let's see, the definition of renaissance is:     a renewal of life, vigor, interest

And someone claims that describes Schenectady

Let's see, renewal of life?    People fleeing Schenectady, trying in DESPERATION to sell their homes, so much so that they are trying to sell them empty and EVERY INTELLIGENT realtor knows that a house that is empty is NOT going to sell easy, but homeonwers are paying the taxes for downtown and have no money to stage their empty house.

Let's see, renewal of interest?   Really?   Where is this interest in the city?     Where is the proof of such interest?   As houses are not even attracting buyers, and apartments largely not attracting renters, where is this so called interest in the city?

Vigor?    Falling tax base is indicative of vigor?????

Definition of vigor -- vitality, growth.   A falling tax base is indicative of growth?    A falling tax base is indicative of vitallity?

The panhandlers and the obscentiy spewing rappers roaming downtown is vitality?

Falling tax base, falling home values, falling home sale pricesm, increased taxes,  fewer necessary services -- what is all this called?

Let's see if ANYONE can post some EVIDENCE of a increased interest in living in the city, of increased home values, of an increased tax base, etc.    Not a chance.  And not a peep out of the cowardly cuckoo DV because he tells fairy tales, has NOTHING to support what he says

Not trying to be vain, but I was right again.

No one provided any evidence to show how the city meets the definition of "renaissance"

Here's some evidence. This house has been vacant maybe two years. Note the selling point: priced nearly $40,000 under assessed value! You won't see that anywhere else, will you? Proof of a renaissance! Oh, wait...

ask not what your value of taxes paid is, but what you can pay in taxes

ask not the value of your home, but what you can sell it for

Yes, in this city that DV claims is in a grand renaissance, here's a cute house listed for sale In November 2011 asking a few dollars under $140,000.

In February 2012 asking price reduced to $129,000.

In June 2012, asking price reduced to $109,000.    But remember, the city claims it will sell for about $126,000 per the "full market value" listed on the assessment roll, and you know that Gary's crony Mary Mary will NEVER allow a reduction in assessment IF the owners grieved, despite the OVERWHELMING PROOF to prove it's NOT worth what the city claims it is.

So in this city that DV claims is in a renaissance, a rebirth with vigor, here is a house sitting for sale for a whole year, taken off the market for a few months and now it's listed again.

Asking price $99,000.

AND the house is EMPTY, meaning the owners have already fled.

DV claims the city is in a renaissance, which again, means rebirth, with vigor.    Gee, maybe he can explain why there is no vigor in Schenectady for home sales?

Get a load of this!    The owners bought the house in 1990.   That is a whopping 23 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!    They bought it for $93,000.

Some renaissance.

Perhaps the person who claims there is a grand renaissance can explain home values have not gone up in 23 year years!!!!!

Perhaps he can explain how this rebirth means homeowners will probably be taking a loss just on the purchase price alone after 23 years!!!!!!!!!!            And an even bigger loss if they did any renovations

TOTAL GUARANTEE

Just watch the TOTAL SILENCE from the D Voice without Reason. Absolutely will not explain this evidence that proves no renaissance exists

Ah yes:

The house on Lexington.

"newer roof, windows, vinyl siding, furnace, and central air."

There is EASILY $15,000 or more, on top of the $93,000 purchase price 23 years ago.

BIG FINANCIAL LOSS for sellers.

Shh stop telling the truth.
The phony renaissance news continues with another gin mill and spaghetti house to further divide the shrinking pie.

Is this part of the renaissance? Or Galesi code violations that never get addressed.
