Geez...I thought you said you supported Jefferson's tax proposal to repeal all internal taxes and fund the federal government with import taxes.  You don't support Jefferson's tax proposal anymore?

Where did I support that Cissy?
You are imagining in your straw man reality again cicero.
Stick with my posts... not with your interpretation and translating into Cissyese.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Ohhhhh...So when you posted THIS, you weren't posting in SUPPORT of Jefferson's "tax the rich" tax plan. You weren't advocating for his propose plan when you said "Tax The Rich....Just like Jefferson Proposed".  Got it!

If you read my post... you will see that I agree with Jefferson's proposal of a
PROGRESSIVE TAX PLAN, which has little or no tax for those on the bottom of the economic
ladder, and a higher tax on those with higher income.
You can spin all you want Cicero, but that doesn't change my post.
Tax the rich (per Thomas Jefferson)

Ohhhhh...You don't really support Jefferson's real "tax proposal" that he implemented during his presidency. Which included repealing the Whiskey Tax and all internal taxes, and relied on revenue from taxing imports.  You only support the WORDS he used in one sentence of a meme created by a labor union advocacy group, not his ACTUAL tax policy. Sorry, I confused you for somebody that actually read history and understood Jefferson's actual tax policies during his presidency.  I never pictured you to be a meme historian.

Be careful boxy....Your use of Jefferson's words might get you labeled as a "Tea Partier", being that Jefferson chopped the federal government down, and repealed all internal taxation. LOL

Cicero is as bad at posting Jefferson's views as he is at posting mine.

"I like the power given the Legislature to levy taxes, and for that reason solely approve
of the greater house being chosen by the people directly.

(Jefferson approves of taxes and who should levy those taxes.)

For though I think a house chosen by them will be very illy qualified to legislate for the Union,
for foreign nations, etc., yet this evil does not weigh against the good of preserving inviolate
the fundamental principle that the people are not to be taxed but by representatives chosen
immediately by themselves."
--Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1787.

Quoted Text
"Taxation is, in fact, the most difficult function of government and that against which their
citizens are most apt to be refractory. The general aim is, therefore, to adopt the mode most
consonant with the circumstances and sentiments of the country." --Thomas Jefferson: Introduction
to Tracy's "Political Economy," 1816. ME 14:460

More on Jefferson's tax views...
(Not exactly how Cicero depicted it)

Quoted Text
"Whether property alone, and the whole of what each citizen possesses, shall be
subject to contribution, or only its surplus after satisfying his first wants, or whether the
faculties of body and mind shall contribute also from their annual earnings, is a question
to be decided. But when decided, and the principle settled, it is to be equally and fairly
applied to all." --Thomas Jefferson: Note to Destutt de Tracy's "Political Economy," 1816.
