DHS & DoD Funding Increases Militarization of Local Police Depts Nationwide
Susanne Posel Occupy Corporatism March 9, 2013
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has published an educational document into the obvious militarization of local police departments (LPDs). The ACLU explains: “American neighborhoods are increasingly being policed by cops armed with the weapons and tactics of war.”
Through federal funding state and LPDs are being trained in military tactical operations and gaining access to military grade weapons to be used against the average American citizen.
Earlier this month, the ACLU “filed more than 255 public records requests to determine the extent to which local police departments are using federally subsidized military technology and tactics that are traditionally used overseas.” The purpose was to understand the extent of the militarization of LPDs and their impact on the Constitutional rights of Americans.
Karen Dansky, attorney for the ACLU explained: “Equipping state and local law enforcement with military weapons and vehicles, military tactical training, and actual military assistance to conduct traditional law enforcement erodes civil liberties and encourages increasingly aggressive policing, particularly in poor neighborhoods and communities of color. We’ve seen examples of this in several localities, but we don’t know the dimensions of the problem.”
In New Hampshire, Mayor Kendall Lane proudly accepted $285,933 in federal grant money from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to acquire an armored vehicle manufactured by Lenco Industries.
Using the war on crime and drugs as an excuse, the Pentagon has been arming LPDs since the 1990s with the assistance and approval of local elected officials.
DHS grants to LPDs have totaled $34 billion as defense contracts continue to come without fail. Riot gear, military-grade weapons and training are becoming common place in cities and townships across the nation.
Timothy Lynch, director of the criminal justice project at the Cato Institute, states: “What is most worrisome to us is that the line that has traditionally separated the military from civilian policing is fading away. We see it as one of the most disturbing trends in the criminal justice area — the militarization of police tactics.”
William Landsdowne, police chief and member of the Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA) asserts that police officers are not becoming militarizes; they are being trained to be better combat the “better armed” suspects. Landsdowne proudly admits: “If we had to take on a terrorist group, we could do that.”
In small towns, LPDs are being given massive amounts of military grade equipment that would facilitate warring in battlefield conditions. Under the Department of Defense Excess Property Program (DDEPP) imitated by the Department of Defense (DoD) LPDs are being militarized under the guise of maintaining public safety.
All LPDs across the nation are encouraged by DoD to apply for federal grants and participate in the program.
Defense armory issued to LPDs is:
• Four-wheel drive military vehicles • Mobile command centers • Armored personal vehicles • SWAT team clothing and armory • Ballistic helmets and safety vests • BDU (flame retardant) clothing • Laptops and other computer equipment • Surveillance tools for intelligence gathering operations
LPDs are public benefit corporations contracted by the City Council to preform police services and securitize the city they are hired in. This is the exchange of a local government hiring a private security firm to stabilize the local population and generate revenue for the city through tickets, arrests and recording infractions. However, this does not include upholding local laws, as the County Sheriff’s Office is elected to take charge of.
In 2012, Louis F. Quijas, Assistant Secretary of the Office for State and Local Law Enforcement (OSLLE), for the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) explained the purpose of the OSLLE as a front “office that provided coordination and partnership with state, local, and tribal law enforcement.”
The OSLLE was recommended by the 9/11 Commission. It was created to “lead the coordination of DHS-wide policies relating to state, local, and tribal law enforcement’s role in preventing acts of terrorism and to serve as the primary liaison between non-Federal law enforcement agencies across the country and the Department.”
Intelligence is disseminated through OSLLE to LPDs or “non-Federal law enforcement partners” to keep information flowing through initiatives such as the “If You See Something, Say Something™”, the Blue Campaign, the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative (NSI), and the Department’s efforts in Countering Violent Extremism.
OSLLE consistently works with LPDs on education, actionable information, operations and intelligence for the purpose of their part in the operations of the DHS with regard to keeping “our homeland safe”.
OSLLE also works as a liaison between LPDs to maintain DHS leadership and considerations of “issues, concerns, and requirements of state, local, and tribal law enforcement during budget, grant, and policy development processes.”
In early 2012, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a report entitled “Homeland Security and Intelligence: Next Steps in Evolving the Mission” which outlined in part on how to redirect efforts of the federal government from international terrorism toward home-grown terrorists and build a DHS-controlled police force agency that would control all cities and towns through the use of local police departments.
DHS maintains that “the threat grows more localized” which necessitates the militarization of local police in major cities in the US and the training of staff from local agencies to make sure that oversight is restricted to the federal government.
Private security corporations have been parading as public servants policing cities and towns across America without the knowledge of the average citizen for quite some time. Although they wear the same badges as LPDs of the past, these private security firms are not there to uphold peace or enforce any laws and city ordinances. Just like any other corporation, they seek out opportunities to collect revenue for the benefit of the city that hired them.

what they fear is the HERO status of GI JOE because the corporations/local incest relations to the upper echelon to keep the cast system could make civil war....
the politicos made the police into 'enemies' and elevated GI JOE because of freedom....
is that NOT an oxymoron?
police curtail freedom while GI JOE (brother, sister, father, mother etc) gets blown up in another country for 'our collective freedom'
that's from our sociopath leaders....PRICELESS

ADHD & Criminals: Drug Corporations Want To Create More Lifetime Customers
Susanne Posel Occupy Corporatism November 27, 2012
A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine by Dr. William Cooper, pediatrics and preventive medicine professor at Vanderbilt University, claims that Ritalin and Adderall (two pharmaceutical drugs used to treat ADHD) can prevent the mind of hyperactive children from becoming criminals. Cooper contends that these drugs should continue to be administered through adulthood to prevent criminal activity later in life.
Cooper said: “There definitely is a perception that it’s a disease of childhood and you outgrow your need for medicines. We’re beginning to understand that ADHD is a condition for many people that really lasts throughout their life.”
So far, 5% of the children in the US have been diagnosed with ADHD, a psychiatric disorder wherein the non-medical opinion of a psychologist that a child is hyperactive, impulsive, has difficulty paying attention and therefore must be given pharmaceutical drugs so that “focus in school” can be achieved.
The study analyzed court and prison records from 2006 – 2009 to determine the number of those convicted who were on a drug to treat SDHD; as well as the severity of their crimes. Only 10 control subjects were entered into the study.
The findings showed:
• Thirty – seven percent of convicts were pre – diagnosed with ADHD • It was likely that ADHD medication was used in 32% of male convicts and 41% of female • ADHD suffers were likely to commit burglary or theft • Four thousand of the 23,000 crimes researched were violent
Paul Lichtenstein, researcher into ADHD for the Karolinska Institute, concurs with the findings of the study (although he had no part in the research). Lichtenstein stated: “It’s well known that individuals with ADHD have much higher rates of criminality and drug abuse than people without ADHD.”
The Karolinska Institute is one of the leading pharmacological research institutions that clarify the field of clinical medicine with the push of the use of drugs to treat physiological and psychological issues. Thirty percent of medicinal training and 40% of medical academic research is conducted at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and all lectures are translated into English and taught in universities in the US.
Dr. Andrew Adesman, chief of developmental and behavioral pediatrics at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center, confirms through past research that adults who were diagnosed with ADHD as children are more likely to:
• Get into driving accidents • Consistently lose jobs • Divorce spouses • Be arrested or commit some criminal activity
Adesman admits that not all children marked as ADHD go on to become criminals or divorcees, and that the majority of them simply grow out of the behavior. Yet, Adesman still maintains that despite the fact that ADHD is a phase of childhood that rarely carries into adulthood that “collectively, people with ADHD are at risk for a range of poor outcomes.”
According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), ADHD is treated with stimulants such as Methylphenidate (Ritalin, Metadate, Concerta, Daytrana), Amphetamine (Adderall), or Dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine, Dextrostat). These drugs have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for children as young as 6 years old.
The accepted treatment of ADHD has a list of dangerous side effects such as:
• Being anti – social or withdrawn • Feeling hopeless, worthless • Extreme suicidal thoughts • Panic attacks • Insomnia • Aggressive and/or violent behavior • Sudden changes in mood/behavior
Dr. Fred Baughman, child neurologist and ADHD researcher states that the advent of ADHD diagnoses is a scheme to sell more anti – psychotic drugs to young children by the pharmaceutical corporations in conjunction with the psychiatric community. Baughman insists that a normal development in children has now been socially accepted as a neurological disorder that requires psychiatric treatment.
Annually, Ritalin sales reach the billions and Adderall has unquestionably surpassed the once leading drug treatment for ADHD to become the drug of choice for pediatricians. However, doctors admit that the children “grow out of the symptoms of ADHD” and that none of the accepted pharmaceuticals actually cure the alleged disease.
Researchers, in keeping with the necessity for drugs to treat ADHD, claim that video games, television, and genetics are the causes of the “disease” while completely ignoring the chemical additives in processed foods that would be heightening a normal function in the neurological development of children.
Maida Galvez, M.D., director of pediatric environmental health at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, explains that: “Scientific evidence is limited to support the association between food additives and ADHD symptoms. Although it is possible that a very small group of children who are allergic to artificial colorings or preservatives may show improvement in symptoms on restriction diets, evidence is insufficient to recommend routine, widespread use of restriction diets to treat a child’s ADHD symptoms.”
Artificial food coloring in addition to the preservative sodium benzoate was shown in studies to incited hyperactivity in children that had not been previously diagnosed with ADHD.
Drug corporations that benefit from this scheme are:
1. Johnson & Johnson 2. Shire 3. Eli Lily
In 2010, there was an explosion of sales for drugs treating ADHD to the extent that manufacturers could not keep the drugs on the “shelf”. Without having a clear science of diagnosis, any psychiatrist could (and did) deem as many children as possible with this label for the sake of profits to the pharmaceutical industry as well as lending credibility to the interpretive world of psychiatry because this specialty analyses emotional responses and behaviors without using scientific measurements or knowledge of causational disturbances that are reflected in real, physical diseases.
ADHD is one of the most lucrative schemes concocted by the psychiatric community in order to justify the development of pharmaceutical drugs that were already in production.
JUST WAIT UNTIL THEY GET A HOLD OF GI JOE......

Occupy Corporatism’s Susanne Posel Claims To Publish “100 % Original” Articles While Plagiarizing Writers Like It’s Going Out Of Style
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, they say. Although it’s possible one could feel an element of flattery when confronted with literal copies of ones own work, it doesn’t take two seconds to remember that robbers are generally speaking not in the business of flattery.
Quite by accident I found out that entire segments of my articles have made a magical reappearance in later articles written by Occupy Corporatism’s Susanne Posel. At first I figured our articles probably smell similar because of the information-swamp we both wade through. But as I checked again I realized that Posel bluntly re-posts entire fragments of my articles a few days after the original appears, sometimes in quick copy-paste style, oftentimes with minor alterations, always omitting the name of the author she copies from. Chances are many more writers in the alternative media have been “poseled”- I’m sorry: inserted in Posel’s articles without even a meager mention.
