Beware Veterans you are being targeted. You serve you country and come home to be on a watch list. So sad.
RP, the only place that I know of Veterans being targeted, is by a very few on this board.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Wednesday that she was briefed before the release of a controversial intelligence assessment and that she stands by the report, which lists returning veterans among terrorist risks to the U.S.
But the top House Democrat with oversight of the Department of Homeland Security said in a letter to Ms. Napolitano that he was “dumbfounded” that such a report would be issued.
“This report appears to raise significant issues involving the privacy and civil liberties of many Americans - including war veterans,” said Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, in his letter sent Tuesday night.
The letter was representative of a public furor over the nine-page document since its existence was reported in The Washington Times on Tuesday.
In her statement Wednesday, Ms. Napolitano defended the report, which says “rightwing extremism” may include groups opposed to abortion and immigration, as merely one among several threat assessments. But she agreed to meet with the head of the American Legion, who had expressed anger over the report, when she returns to Washington next week from a tour of the U.S.-Mexico border.

DHS/I&A is concerned that rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to boost their violent capabilities.
The American Legion on Tuesday criticized a new Homeland Security report as unfairly stereotyping veterans by suggesting that some soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan could be recruited by right-wing extremists to participate in violent actions.
“I think it is important for all of us to remember that Americans are not the enemy. The terrorists are,” David K. Rehbein, national commander of the veterans organization, said in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano about a security assessment titled “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence and Recruitment.”
The report, which prompted a storm of outrage Tuesday from conservatives, cited the example of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh in warning that the return of disgruntled military veterans could lead to “terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.”

Mr. Rehbein also challenged the department on that score, speaking on behalf of the legion's 2.6 million members. “To continue to use McVeigh as an example of the stereotypical 'disgruntled military veteran' is as unfair as using Osama bin Laden as the sole example of Islam,” he said.

Yup. That was the George Worst Bush ordered report that came out in early 2009. It stated that Domestic terrorists were actively recruiting both serving and former US military into their terror groups.

Box has to be torn. The left often envokes McVeigh to smear the right, but McVeigh is now being envoked to smear retuning veterans. You gotta be careful when using a scapegoat as a tool to demagogue and push your agenda. That scapegoat is now being used to demagogue YOU and your fellow vets. Ohhhh the irony...

McVeigh is a Right Wing, Anti Govt Domestic Terrorist. The fact that he was a Veteran, IMO makes no difference to me personally. He was a traitor to his country and to his military brethren. Right Wing Militia and White Supremacists have been recruiting from the military and even infiltrating combat units, to gain combat skills for their coming war (see Henry) against the coming race war.
This is nothing new... G Worst Bush ordered this study of Homeland Security while he was president, but the situation grew worse when the USA elected a Black President.

She said the report was an assessment -- not an accusation -- and said she would meet with leaders of veterans groups next week. She noted that the Veterans of Foreign Wars, which bills itself as the nation's largest combat veterans group, defended the report.
Glen M. Gardner Jr., the national commander of the 2.2 million-member VFW, said the assessment "should have been worded differently" but served a vital purpose.
"A government that does not assess internal and external security threats would be negligent of a critical public responsibility," he said in a statement.

Weeding out Domestic terrorists like Timothy McVeigh from the vast majority of Loyal, Patriotic returning veterans, is a positive for all of Americas Veterans.

Box i don't understand first you post this and then you go on to defend the report ?
Government can criticize veterans in an official government report, it's ok - they are federal property. If you or I say vets are dangerous potential killers, we are anti government, but if the government does it - national security. Box's statist beliefs make him turn his back on his fellow soldiers that the government classifies as a potential enemy of the state. It's pretty sad.

Kinda like weeding out Muslim terrorists. All Muslims have to be under surveillance in order to catch/kill the bad ones like Al Awlaki. Great, veterans just joined the ranks of Muslims who will ALL be looked upon with suspicion by the government they served. What a shame. And box actually supports it.

See Henry? I was never in the military nor do I know what conspiracy theory race war you been talking about, please explain it to me this should be interesting
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot."
they were called 'assault rifles' so that GI JOE/JANE wouldn't be afraid to use it on a human...because where GI JOE/JANE came from a rifle was a rifle and a shot gun was a shot gun and meant for hunting and home protection....
so you see the term 'assault weapon/rifle/gun/grenade' or what ever weapon used becomes a conversation and mind set of the soldier....to kill other humans via ASSAULT.....
it's not the guns.....it's the training and the definition....it's a 'religion' to train GI JOE/JANE to the term ASSAULT....
but a gun/knife/fist/foot/spit/blood/cast iron pan etc are NOTHING in and of themselves until wielded by a human.......
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS

Yea I do defend the report... It's insane to just ignore intelligence about known terrorist threats. And Yea, I don't feel targeted or threatened in any way, by the Home Land Security Report.
My view seems to agree with the majority view of the VFW!

Just think, one good drone strike on the CPAC conference and we could shut the whole board down and outlaw dissent. Box and JoeBoxes dream!
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
