Since this little boy was 'in the system' in some way (the grandmother had to have been in court at some point to get legal guardianship, and he also had disabilities) there should have been someone checking up on him on a very regular basis. A half-wit grandmother who could barely manage herself wasn't good enough. If she was afraid she was losing the boy to the streets she would want to correct that, but someone lacking basic resources such as intelligence and self-control is simply overmatched. I'm not condoning her behavior at all, don't get me wrong. I've said for a long time that all these 'helping' agencies and programs are good for next to nothing, because they encourage every idiot and lowlife to get in on the freeload, and the truly needy, an eight year old boy with disabilities, for instance, get crowded out by the big dogs feeding at the trough.

And again ...where was DSS / CPS   looks like they failed....especially if she had mental issues......been far too long that MENTAL ISSUES ARENT; ADDRESSED IN THESE TIMES.

Seems like we owe this child and all children of abuse a huge apology and lots of prayers.

Police should have security cameras installed in all homes with children.  If anybody opposes that, they support small children being abused and dying.

In the TU story she says she's on assistance for mental and physical disabilities. Last night someone claiming to be herrelative stated on one of the news stations Facebook stories that this woman ran a daycare. Any idea if she was indeeded running a daycare out of home...and if so any word on her behavior towards those children?

...Connecticut .Grandmother shoots 2 children 1 and 2 years old and then shoots herself.....she had mental issues and was allowed to pick them up from daycare....

read about it.....now it seems to be a trend.....

because society's threads have been pulled....the females used to stay home as a close knit group and rear children and
take care of the elderly while the males went to work and 'brought home the bacon' so to speak...then bras were burned

but even prior to that when families had their own farms to feed themselves pre-agriculture corps, it was a group and
multi-generational effort....

add war on another continent to these scenarios where the male is taken by badge of courage/honor to fight in something
the leaders tell him is needed for country, have him return as damaged goods/altered in ways unseen and try to make
a society that rears posterity via family rather than government daddy.

Someone who murders a child is evil.

Many of us suffer from "mental" illness such as depression, anxiety disorder etc and would NEVER commit such a horrendous act.

While Mental illness can be a factor in many of today's atrocities, I believe believe these conditions are becoming deamonized and I worry that it will make people who live with some of these conditions even more ostracized. The mentally ill are far more likely to be victims of violence than perpetrators. This woman most likely didn't do this because of mental illness; these kind of actions more often are the result of a culmination of bad choices: the way to she chose to raise her children, the way she chose to discipline, the people and institutions she chose to put her faith in

I posted before how I am being treated for anxiety depression and PTSD, the later due to an abusive stepfather and other incidents
when I was young, the anxiety since high school probably farther back. And I have MS.

Anyways most of you know I have three grown children, all wonderful and kind and proud of them and I have two grandsons.

And those who really know me know that I would do anything to protect my kids, my grandkids and my family.

I like many parents had to make tough choices for my kids when their were issues, one very tough choice that at the time broke my
heart but saved my child.

Fought with the school system for the right services.

Even though my kids are grown I am here for them.

Never knew my heart could hold so much love.

And then the grandkids come and your heart doubles in size.

When these horrible acts of violence happen and we hear about them on the news, as in this case with this "grandmother" who says she
has physical and mental issues, that is NO excuse or defense for what she did.  Again only someone filled with hate and evil could kill
an innocent child.
