The few remaining cheerleaders should stroll down Franklin St and Jay Street across from City Hall. Do it during the day. One vacant business after another. A church for sale with no takers. You think the Gazetto, Death Ray or Mayor McCheese would see the total devastation surrounding beautiful City Hall. NOTHING. Where are the jobs McCheese? Where are the new businesses Downtown Death Ray? Schenectady has
become a total joke under the current administration. A basket case. With a bunch of DEM hacks pile driving it into the ground. There are no carcasses left to pick over. A million dollars to narrow Erie but nothing
to buy City Vehicles. No wonder the Finance Director fled for Proctor's and deputy was fired for daring to speak the  truth. Only in Schenectady.

But no one who lives in Nisky or CP ever drives by that. They only drive on State St, and then write letters about the "rennaisham" and how great a job Death Ray has done with new plaster on the building fronts.

Great point! Guess they never drive on Erie or lower State St. The entire City is collapsing under the weight of DEM incompetence, nepotism and urban planning. Name one neighborhood that is improving?
Camden New Jersey North. Send Death Ray/Fat Morris packing and bring in a State Senate appointed Control Board to start sorting through 37 years of "working together" to defraud taxpayers in the City.

People from out of town are always shocked when they come to Schenectady and see some of the neighborhoods. They have no idea that something that nice exists here, or something that could be that nice if not for our damned "leaders".
Why the hell should I care if somebody who doesn't live here thinks downtown "looks better". Ask them what they bought, or when they plan to buy a home here.

I guess this isn't trickle down economics. More like gush out.

Tens of millions of dollars in salaries have left the city. None of that money will be spent here.

The city won't even get the sales tax on purchases.

The top ten cops alone take over a million outside the city each year.

Schenectady would be totally different if every city employee was hired from the city residents.

The management of the city has allowed this to happen.

If the hundreds of out of towners were replaced with city residents, the welfare building wouldn't
have a line down the block.

The Mayor and council allow the money to leave every year.

The money is taken to areas that don't have the massive overhead of the city, where it boosts the
local economy.

Proctor's is open in the summer? When my relatives come to town we take them to Saratoga. Schenectady is in free fall and no amount of precanned letters from DEM hacks changes the facts on the ground.
The area around City Hall is as bad as Erie, Lower State and Broadway. Disgusting that no one on the joke City Council except Mayor in waiting Vince Riggi can see what is.
