Legalize marijuana, yes or no? A 'f**' use to be a cigarette now it is a term of derision. A 'weed' use to be a nuisance plant now it is a drug. Gay, well that one changed also. Nothing is as it was. We should call marijuana a med & sell it over the counter. Tax it heavily, of course.
Prohibition of alcohol did not work! The process was instigated by good intentioned idiots & exploited by the 'mob'. The 'mob' controls the marijuana (drug) issue & the idiots are still doing their thing.
Children who otherwise would be sorted out by a responsible parent are drugged up to control miscreant behavior. "Hugs are better than drugs" but touching is out.
A large number of the general population is on some sort of mood drug. Many people take mood drugs to "even out" their moods. Doctors will tell you they have strict guidelines in prescribing mood drugs. In a society that seeks mood adjustment every waking moment, there are no guidelines. Mood drugs contain many people in nursing facilities, some necessary most as a substitute for hands on care.
Imagine you enter a nursing home, your body is shot but your brain is 100%. Placement evaluation determines a certain medication modality is required. The lunch box of drugs will contain seven meds twice a day. You the patient do not want four of the seven because you know they denigrate your 'quality of life' at the expense of living longer, maybe.
If your in a nursing facility you are not capable or 'responsible' for your own care. By that definition, you take what they give you or a mental exam will find some defect in judgement. Who is 100% in their judgement even at 35, in good health? We all got defects! Any nursing home would make Jimmy Hendrix think he was back at Woodstock.
We live in a drugged up world where even 'normal' people are forced to take mood medications so who are we as a society to tell anyone what drug they can take, at any age. Parents already have lost rights with respect to their daughters 'birth control' issues.
Disband the DEA. Put IRS in charge of monitoring revenues from mood drugs. Just like Obamacare, IRS will be the foot soldier in the new drugged up world.
Myself I do not drink, never smoked or did a recreational drug. To my neighbors on mood meds & SSI, knock yourself out.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste, so is a life.
