I liked Huntsman enough that I would have volunteered to work for him if his campaign made it to NY. The problem with Huntsman is the problem with all common sense candidates that are not tied to a specific agenda....money..or more accurately, the lack of it.

IMO, Huntsman was the closest Republican to Obama in 2012. Although we've all heard how Obama is a 'Left Wing Socialist' on FoxSnooze and on this board, I fear that Obama will show in his 2nd term, that he's much closer to Ronald Reagan's views, than any Left Winger.

A new CNN/ORC poll finds a slight majority of Americans sees the Republican party's policies and views as too extreme, 53% to 37%, a first for the GOP.
Key finding: "It probably doesn't help that House Speaker John Boehner, who's leading GOP fiscal cliff negotiations with the president, is held in fairly low regard, particularly in comparison to Obama. According to the poll, 34% of the public approves of how the top Republican in the House handling his job. By contrast, the president's approval rating stands at 52%."

A new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds it's the Republican party's message that appears to be the problem, not the messengers who are delivering it.
Key findings: 53% of Americans say the GOP's problem is that they are overly conservative and unconcerned "with the welfare of the people, particularly those in the lower and middle income levels." By contrast, just 38% say the bigger issue is that Republicans "need a better leader to explain and win support" for their policies.

I personally think that either Paul Ryan or Rick Santorum would be a great candidate for president in 2016. Those two and Jon Huntsman are on my "short list" for candidates that I would even consider supporting for president.

The party needs to change but I disagree with him playing the race card, in fact his own words are more racist then the examples he gave (which weren't racist anyways). He wants politicians to offer more to one race then others, is that not racist. If a politician promises something it should be directed at the whole American people, not just African Americans, or the Latinos, or whatever. Pretty much he wants the right to sink down to the racism the left has been doing for decades.
