Interesting, I did not listen, but tuned into the 4pm news on channel 10. They mentioned that there were only two attackers and that indeed, someone stepped in to help. I wonder which report is more accurate? I shall endeavor to find other accounts of the incident.

Ah, the Times Union report from this morning does indeed say there were four attackers. However they state the youths rode off on their bicycles when bystanders stepped in.
