NISKAYUNA — A new Walmart Neighborhood Market, a grocery store that's less than a quarter the size of a typical Walmart Supercenter, will open in mid-2013 at Mansion Square in Niskayuna.
I've been in these neighborhood stores before - it's amazing what they can get in there. Obviously less than Price Chopper - but more than Target (or Walmart without grocery like Rotterdam)
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
Walmart 'neighborhood market' planned for Niskayuna’s Mansion Square The Business Review by Pam Allen, Reporter Date: Friday, August 24, 2012, 12:05pm EDT - Last Modified: Friday, August 24, 2012, 12:59pm EDT
Walmart will build a grocery store in Mansion Square, the new shopping plaza across from the Mohawk Commons retail center on Balltown Road in Niskayuna, New York. The 40,000-square-foot store planned for the site is one of the giant retailer’s “neighborhood markets,” and is much smaller than the company's traditional department stores and supercenters, which average 150,000 square feet. Walmart’s smaller-concept market in Niskayuna is the company’s first such store in New York state. It will employ 90 people. The store and pharmacy, scheduled to open in early 2013, will sell groceries, fresh meat and produce, deli and bakery goods, health and beauty aids and smaller consumer items. It will not sell the larger hardware and consumer products offered at Walmart’s traditional retail stores. Bill Wertz, Walmart spokesman, said the Bentonville, Arkansas-based retailer opened its first neighborhood market in Arkansas in 1998. Walmart has opened 200 others since then, and is stepping up efforts to build more of the smaller stores nationwide. “It’s a convenient place for customers who don’t have the time to go into a larger store,” he said. Wertz said Walmart’s new Niskayuna store will offer one more option for consumers. Price Chopper already has a store across the street at Mohawk Commons, Hannaford has a store nearby on Consaul Road, and ShopRite has a store three miles away on Balltown Road/Nott Street East..........................>>>>...........................>>>>..........................http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/news/2012/08/24/walmart-neigborhood-market-planned.html
I can't stand the supercenters.....if they had a rollercoaster in the middle of the supercenter with some cotton candy for sale I might be able to tolerate it......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
The same Business Review that said it was a Fresh Market a month ago. No wonder Coach Landry kept it quiet. Rotsa Ruck in your primary- lol. Landry paved paradise to put up a Walmart. Only in Schenectady County!
And no public hearing, no outcry, no discourse from the Niskayuna sheeple.
Amazing.
Why should there be? It isn't exactly a pretty park anymore. The land was approved, despite the best efforts of many, to be used as a shopping center. Which particular stores are actually in that center, is irrelevant.
I was at every last meeting concerning Ingersol, and trust me, that battle is over. Now, it's just a field of mud. Might as well build something. What do you think they're going to build there, a park?
So now there's a downtown Niskayuna, which unlike downtown Schenectady, actually provides jobs, with people and businesses that actually pay taxes.
