Please- no fake outrage. If someone breaks into my house, i hope to God they dont make any fast moves. People expect the cop to have the wisdom of Budda but if your getting carjacked you want Dirty Harry.
If someone breaking into your house includes cops breaking into your house, do you respond differently?
The point being, cops are offensively patrolling inner city streets for mostly non-violent crimes like selling drugs. Cops respond to shootings and assaults, but have a continuous offensive against drug dealers.
I don't expect the cop to have wisdom of Buddha when making the life or death decision while on an offensive patrol, but I do expect them to have the Wisdom of Buddha when contemplating the reaction of those you are offensively patrolling. Just like any occupation of a territory, those being occupied will respond violently to the occupying forces.
Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule. Buddha
There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills. Buddha
The concern isn't "excessive force", as determined by an internal affairs investigation or a court, the concern should be what is considered "legal" use of force by police. In ever increasing acceptance of "non lethal" but VERY PAINFUL and violent actions of law enforcement is what people need to worry about.
Not a war zone
And for the finale.
Box is suddenly fine with this. As long as HIS president is in charge of the storm troops.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Perhaps the UK cops have magic powers that they could share with US cops.
They manage to run their police state with most cops carrying no guns.
In the United Kingdom, the majority of police officers do not carry firearms, except in special circumstances. This originates from the formation of the Metropolitan Police Service in the 19th century, when police were not armed, partly to counter public fears and objections concerning armed enforcers as this had been previously seen due to the British Army maintaining order when needed.

I used to be guilty of the same reflexive defense of tyrannical actions of what I considered 'my president'. I am glad to say I have been deprogrammed from blindly following and defending a "leader" that wants to control mine or somebody else's life using the force of government. Government is only necessary to protect life and personal freedom.
