crime rate in the State, guess who made number one

http://www.cbs6albany.com/news/top-stories/stories/vid_2624.shtml

Albany Co. crime rates 2nd highest in state
ALBANY -- Crime rates in Albany County are among the highest in the state. The Department
of Criminal Justice Services found Albany County has the second highest rate of
"index" crimes. Those include murder, forcible rape, robbery and aggravated
assault.
Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says several factors
contribute to spikes in crime, like a slow economy, the summer season and the
holidays.
"It's easy if you want to throw a dart you can throw a dart
and say the numbers are through the roof, but Albany county look were not a huge
county but we do have one-third of our population is from the inner city, you
know obviously our crime rate is gonna be a little higher," said
Apple.
The numbers are worse in Schenectady County. It's rate of
index crimes is the worst in the state
.

RAH!   RAH!

CHEER!     CHEER!

THE RENAISSANCE KEEPS ROLLING ALONG

So says DV.    Oh yeah, there's still more to be done, but he won't say how many more homeowners must lose their homes to tax foreclosure in order to give money to the politically corrupt and millionaires downtown.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

It's NOT a war zone.  It's Renaissance!  At least they're not bringing knives or getting a gun, right?

Give me a break.  Notice, Visitor has been mysteriously quiet.

Rusty - your comments are not worth a response.  It's the same rant over and over again.

The City has serious crime issues but to call it a war zone tells me you have never been to war or veen a major city with crime problems.  The City has three crimes which drive the rates - burglary, larceny, and aggravated assaults - the third category is very difficult to address because it is how some people in the City solve inperpersonal conflicts, in otrher words domestic violence and senseless assaults of acquaintances or neighbors they have an argument with.

Same cliches over and over again - renasaince, war zone, tiresome name calling - I'm about as apololitical as it gets, so, I don't come here to support any politician or strategy.

And again taking my words out of context - I referred to a day in a working class neighborhood in which there were fights but they never rose to the level of senseless violence you have now. And, you are refrring to a teen fight in which someone should have stopped it - but, that is hardly the worst of the City's problems

Aggravated assaults are the byproduct of economic collapse and poverty.

Caused partially by reckless spending and never ending tax increases.

Denying that Schenectady is a war zone doesn't make it so.

If the inhabitants feel like it's a war zone, then it really exists.

Perhaps if you actually lived in the targeted neighborhoods you would feel the impact of the drug dealing warlords,
and the enforcement overlords.

They are an imported occupying force.

It will be a war until they stop targeted enforcement.

We're Number Two! Your County DEM morons are trying harder! Schenectady County is now Number Two-behind only Albany County in property crimes. Move over Rochester and NYC! The TU editorial today rips the DA's of both Schenectady and Albany Counties. If not for bottom feeding Albany, Schenectady would have the worst school district AND worst crime statistics in the entire State. Keep the DEM implosion going!

BRAVO L4L : )  Visitor just asking, what neighborhood do YOU live in? Do you even live in the city? I live in Hamilton Hill. and again couldn't sleep last night due to people surrounding an occupied SUV near Jerry Burrell Park and threatening to break the fuc*ing windows to get in.

Why in the hell can't the police just drive by a few times at night and clear out the park, jeez.
Because most of them don't give a sh*t and MOST of them dont live in the city.

It's hard to do when you can count the number of cars on patrol with one hand.  Evident by the fact that they need to call RPD for backup repeatedly.

That's the reason, cops who live outside the city wish to keep the problems contained so it won't spread into their home city. What motivation do these officers have to clean up this city when at night they get to go home to their nice safe areas outside the war zone.

Yup and most of the crime was "contained" in Hamilton Hill, then it spread to Mt. Pleasant, oh wait is that why Marcella's moved out. well lucky him as we the taxpaying homeowners dont have a metroplex to bail us out, we don't have anyone in city hall who gives a crap, and not having enough patrol cars IS NOT OUR FAULT, we are paying the taxes that pay the police, no we have to rely on ourselves and that's what we will do until we get out of this hellhole.

Before Police Officers take upon themselves
the “Law Enforcement Oath of Honor,” it is
vital that they understand what it truly means.
An oath is a solemn pledge someone
voluntarily makes when they sincerely intend
to do what they say. The key words in the
“Law Enforcement Oath of Honor” are
defined thusly:
HONOR means giving one’s word as a bond and guarantee.
BETRAY is defined as breaking faith and proving false.
The BADGE is a visible symbol of the power of your office.
INTEGRITY is firm adherence to principles, both in our
private and public life.
CHARACTER means the qualities and standards of
behavior that distinguish and individual.
The PUBLIC TRUST is a duty imposed in faith to those we
are sworn to serve.
COURAGE is having the “heart”, the mental, and the moral
strength to venture, persevere, withstand, and overcome
danger, difficulty, and fear.
ACCOUNTABILITY means that we are answerable and
responsible for our actions.
COMMUNITY is the municipality, neighborhoods, and
citizens we serve
