While some say private equity firm Bain Capital has been a job creatorsome former employees of set-top cable-box repair company Contec Holdings in Schenectady may beg to differ.

Three summers ago, Contec laid off 132 employees and shifted production to Mexico and elsewhere.

Contec's owner is Bain Capital, which had acquired Contec from American Capital for $525 million in 2008.

The reason for the job shift? Economic pressures, said Contec's chief operating officer.

Contec has engineering and administrative offices in Schenectady, although it's not clear how many people work there. A spokesman couldn't be reached Friday for comment.

Since Feb. 11, 1999, Mr. Romney has not had any active role with any Bain Capital entity and has not been involved in the operations of any Bain Capital entity in any way,” reads a footnote to Mr. Romney’s most recent federal financial disclosures.

Yet because he retained technical control of Bain Capital’s management and because his wealth remained heavily tied up with the firm, Mr. Romney’s name or signature appears on dozens of documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission between February 1999 and August 2001, when he finalized a retirement deal with the active Bain partners and transferred to them his shares of Bain’s management entity.

I'm not sure why something that happened nearly 10 years after he left is being attributed to him

More comprehension problems.  It was a TU article, RP didn't write it.  Buck can't help his reflexive response defending his party leader.

And then there is this from their own website

http://www.gocontec.com/

Since 1978 Contec (Schenectady, NY and Seattle, WA) has continually grown and expanded our service offerings to cable operators throughout North America. From the early days of cable to the latest state-of-the-art digital broadband services today, our customers have relied on us for the highest quality repairs. The Schenectady facility repairs Motorola, Scientific Atlanta Pace, Digeo, Moxi, and Samsung digital set-tops, while Seattle specializes in Motorola repairs and remanufactured units and various types of electronic rework projects.

Guess they don't even realize the jobs went to Mexico    Scroll through their site it's a blast lol.

I wonder how much income from Bain as CEO would show up on Romney's tax returns in the years after 1999?

Here's Romneys 2010 return, way too long for me to read tonight and I don't understand about blind trusts and
the overseas items anyways.

No and every business looks for a tax write off to save money.

A majority or Americans think that Romney should post his tax returns... this isn't just a DEM issue... it's about
fairness and openness.
The CNN/ORC poll asked Americans and registered voters whether or not Mitt Romney should release more
than two years of tax returns. By a margin of 63%-36%, those polled felt that Romney should release more
tax returns. Among registered voters, the result was a similar 61%-37% split.

Hey this is kinda looks like the 'birther' thing Boxy but with taxes!

And instead of the 'vast far right tea baggers led by Sarah Palin' looking for a birth certificate, it's you 'far left flea baggers led by Harry Ried' looking for tax returns!

Winter is Coming.

Fun fact of the day.....House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's wealth grows 62% to $35.2M
http://articles.nydailynews.com/2011-06-16/news/29687626_1_stock-gains-house-speaker-charles-rangel

Let's see her tax returns?...Obviously, she is a hero of the 99%

This IS a lot like the birther thing... except Obama's birth certificate has been verified over and over again
even by Factcheck.org.  You can see Obama's birth certificate on line below:
http://www.factcheck.org/2008/08/born-in-the-usa/

So... when you can read Romney's "tax returns" online, and they've been verified by an outside observer
like factcheck... then Romney's tax issue will be much like the Birther thing.  Until then... most Americans
think that Romney is hiding something that would keep them from voting for him in November.

And,
If Nancy Pelosi were running for President... I'd want to see her tax returns too.

Is there any particular reason WHY you are only interested in the presidential candidate’s disclosure of tax returns?  That seems quite random.  I mean, Pelosi, while Speaker of the House, she had the power to bring forward and steer legislation, she is eqaully as powerful as the President along with Harry Reid as Senate Majority Leader.  Well, that's if you believe in the Constitution and that the 3 branches of government have equal powers.  Based on some of box's post, I think he may believe the President is some sort of king.

And what is the value of the tax returns?  Is it purely political or can that affect his ability to hold office?  I think I’m missing the hype about the tax returns…Wait…No I’m not; it is to talk about anything besides Obama’s record over the previous 31/2 years
