The honeymoon period appears to be long over between former Schenectady School Superintendent Eric Ely and the Southbridge, Mass., school board.
According to the Associated Press, Ely is in a schoolyard fight with three of the committee's seven members.
Saying Ely has told a series of lies, school committee member Scott S. Lazo sought to relieve Ely of his duties. "On July 24, the school committee voted, 4-3, to endorse Ely's plan to abolish middle and high school principal jobs.
A week later, Ely named district math director Tammy M. Perreault principal of the new middle-high school, which is opening to students on Sept. 4.
It is Perreault's first principal position.
At the time of her appointment she held only a license to be a principal in Grades 5-8. Though she had qualifications to be a licensed principal for high school students, she hadn't submitted all of the necessary paperwork until a week after the appointment."
Odd that inappropriate behavior seems to follow this man everywhere he goes?

But he'd have to be UNBELIEVABLY STUPID to allow a personal relationship to drive this decision.
I mean clearly he made some very poor decisions, but he'd have to have severe emotional issues to not be able to foresee that getting rid of 3 people and promoting a woman that he has a relationship with, would be a fatal mistake.
Because it would be nearly impossible to hide a relationship if people were out there looking hard at any tracks left, or to be left.

Too many of his "associates" are still dug into the pathetic Schenectady system. The Mad Bomber was famous for his conspiracy of one. An only in Schenectady legal precedent. Npbody knew from nuthin, nobody saw nuthin, everyone was looking the other way. It will take Schenectady decades to dig out the educational wreckage he caused. Ditto Southbridge.

No matter though...Schenectady still has him getting his STAR exemption on his home and the lifelong benefits from this district will follow him....probably even when he's in the slammer.
