The Schenectady Police Department is accepting applications for a School Crossing Guard at Eastern and Elmer Avenues, and for Substitutes with their own reliable transportation. These positions require fingerprinting and criminal background checks at your own expense ($85.75). Rate of pay is $10 per hour, and a bonus is available for guards assigned to a permanent post (not for substitutes). 2 hours per day (7:15 AM to 8:15 AM, and 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM) Apply in-person at the Traffic Division, 837 Albany Street, 8AM to 3:30PM, or call 382-5211, ext. 5304

Too bad, because if this was a teachers union job, the pay would be $30 per hour plus paid vacation, low-cost health care, retirement benefits and paid vacation.

Where did you go to high school, O.D. Heck? You shouldn't have dropped out. Every time I read one of your posts, I have to remind myself that you more than likely have to wear a hockey helmet to the mall.
Did you miss the "criminal background check" part? Do you really want somebody who's own kids would probably go hungry if it weren't for school breakfast, and lunch programs, to be the temporary guardian of your child?
Not to mention the fact that many of them think that it's a good idea to walk in traffic, because if you hit them, they "gonna sue yo a$$".
The people in line at DSS are not exactly Ward, and June Cleaver.
