Burnt Hills grad Nick Delpopolo was disqualified from the Olympics after testing positive for marijuana. The Amsterdam man had already competed in judo competition.
The International Olympic Committee expelled the judo player from the games after testing positive for cannabis on July 30.
Delpopolo attributed his positive test on "consumption of food that I did not realize had been baked with marijuana, before I left for the Olympic Games.'
The positive test comes after Depopolo finished seventh in London his quest for Olympic gold. He won two matches, including upsetting the ninth-ranked judoka in his class (Delpopolo is ranked 12th), took the top-ranked judoka into and through overtime tied (losing a unanimous decision) and came up two wins shy of a bronze medal.

LOL...............just once I'd like to hear one of these failed drug test takers say "Oh hell yeah I was getting high, I just forgot it lingers in my system for awhile." or "Damn right I was using steroids, I've got a family to support, and if you think I'm going to lose my job to some clown who can't carry my jock strap you're out of your freakin' mind!!"..............just once.......... I'd have more respect for that person than the "I didn't know." or "I didn't take anything illegal" people...................btw a hair follicle test will detect pot use 6 months from the time of use..............'case anyone's anticipating a drug test in the near future.........

The problem with testing for pot, is that it stays in your system for over a month, so when you're tested at work, they aren't really testing to see if you're getting high on the job, they're testing to see what you did last weekend.
Besides, pot could hardly be considered "performance enhancing", like speed, or steroids, in fact it's quite the opposite.

I find it very very hard to believe that ANY of these competitors aren't fully and completely schooled on drugs w-a-y before they even come close to the Olympics!! Just don't add up......imo
