NOPE! wouldn't buy or rent in any of those areas.......but in all fairness..........most would not buy ANYWHERE in the city of schenectady!! Between the high taxes, crime, substandard schools and failing infrastructure.....give me one 'good' reason why folks should move there.

Well, the way DV talks, you would think he would absolutely jump at the chance to buy your house, or any house, in MP, I mean, IF, that's an IF he had a job and thus would be eligible to apply for a mortgage, heck since his buddy dems have caused the property values to plummet, gee, he could buy a house and have it paid for in 5 years (if we can pay for an SUV in 2 years, definitely the prices of a house would allow for payoff in 5 years).

And let's look at what DV says:

Jan 26, 2011

I strongly believe that despite the problems in Mont Pleasant ... and  believe that the neighborhood IS good.

Jan 25, 2011

I am glad that people are willing to invest in Mont Pleasant.  It is still a good neighborhood ...

Jan 20, 2011

Mont Pleasant is a neighborhood worth investing in.

But will DV invest in the neighborhood?     Super low prices and all time low mortgage rates and with the renaissance he claims is happening in the city and the city is improving oh so much, then logically he should buy a house now, right?

ROFLMAO.   He won't touch MP neighborhood with a ten foot pole.   Hurry into the church (well TRY to walk fast), and as soon as Mass is over, he is out in a flash, no staying around.   I mean, really, he has even abandoned the neighborhood group there.

So, DV, tell us why YOU REFUSE to invest in the neighborhood???????

Too embarrassing to admit that it's bad, too embarrassing to admit the city is getting worse by the day.   Too embarrassing to admit that your dem buddies are taxing people out of their homes and creating a ghosttown???

And pay the insane DEM taxes? No thanks. I talked to someone who said a friend was transferred GE Main Plant. Asked where is he living knowing it would never be in McCheeseville. Answer-he bought a home in Clifton Park because of the horrible City taxes. Elections have consequences. Rotterdam is working together towards the same result.

It's disgusting that we have to devote so many resources due to uncivilized behavior.

Too bad resources aren't spent to improve the MP and Hill neighborhoods instead?

The City is so bass ackwards that the police force has become the only neighborhood improvement squad.

How about STOP moving businesses out of the MP and Hill areas...maybe Strichman can figure out a way in the code book to welcome businesses and stop the endless non-profits from adding to the taxpayers burden.

How about getting the landlords together in these areas and making incentives for choosing better tenants. Those without pit bulls, who work hard to keep their head above water and those tenants who take PRIDE in where they live....even if it's currently war-torn drug turf.

This clean-up of the neighborhoods begins one home...one apartment...one landlord at a time. Make TAX BREAKS AN INCENTIVE FOR LANDLORDS TO KEEP GOOD TENANTS. AND TAX BREAKS FOR MP/HILL HOMEOWNERS WHO STAY IN SPITE OF IT ALL!! It will work!
