SCOTIA — The man who reportedly tried to lure a Scotia girl into his car with candy last week has turned out to be nonexistent.
Scotia police are reporting today that the 10-year-old girl told her mom last night that she saw the car drive by again. But when officers arrived, she admitted to making the whole thing up.
“While being interviewed by an officer, the girl stated that she made up both stories because she felt she was not getting attention from her parents since the birth of a sibling,” said Scotia Police Chief Pete Frisoni in a news release.
