This coming Sunday - July 29 - here's what's on the taxpayer paid bus tour through the finer sections of the city.
Come and look, buy a house so you can pay Paul Mitchell's property taxes, and the Hilton family's taxes, and the theater taxes and the gin mill taxes, and pay for cars for high paid employees so they can drive them on daily pleasure drives.
Here are the houses on this Sunday's tour.
Just so you know, the house on Halsey Drive was listed Jan 23 of 2010 and listing removed after six months of no buyers. It was listed again late June of 2011 FSBO and listing removed Jan 2012 after 7 months of no buyers So now it's listed with another realtor.

With the taxes in Schenectady being so high, the school district being so poor, one could list a house for $1 and some people still wouldn't be interested in buying it.
I'm sure there's a song for this thread too, based on the Beatles "Magical Mystery Tour".........
"Roll up, roll up for the renaissance tour, Roll up, roll up for the renaissance tour The stupid renaissance tour would love to steal your cash........."
The ridiculous renaissance tour would love to steal all your pay! Taxing your savings away Confiscating today!
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
Don't you just love the one on Manchester Rd? 6 price reductions in 2 months, and they're still asking for a price $18,900 (20%) over the assessed value. Maybe with one of these paychecks, someone will decide to splurge to buy it. I mean with that many reductions, that is an average of one per paycheck (for those that are working), right? Unless you have a Metroplex job and get paid weakly, pun intended.

LOL......................maybe we could make this a group collaboration................. ................everyone could add a line or two..................do the final recording in front of Proctors with the entire group involved.................yep, I can see it now, a modern day happening.......................

6 price reductions NOT in 2 months!
Notice listed in 2011 In May of 2011. A year and two months and no one wants to buy a house IN the city. Not sure why that house is assessed so low, unless they grieved in 2009. But of course, most are sitting for a year on the market and the asking price has been reduced to half of what the city says the house is worth.
Yep, like I said, where's the proof in what the woman said last Monday at the council meeting, claiming this key program and bus tour things is such a great success? If that's true, how come nice houses in nice neighborhoods have asking prices substantially lower than what the city says they are worth, and they still can't sell after a year??????????
Gee, DV, if the city is in this renaissance, can you tell us why people can't sell there houses after a year on the market???????
Why ask DV, he REFUSES to answer questions that prove that he is wrong, REFUSES to answer questions that prove there is no renaissance.
We provide ALL THE EVIDENCE, and he's so very embarrassed, he doesn't even bother spewing obscenities anymore.

If Alice had a restaurant in Schenectady, you might just have a movement!
My Good God................Look at those taxes!!!!! OMG!!
Anyone with 'any' common sense at all will know that 'if' they bought any of these properties....they would have to grieve the taxes....and we all know how that will work out for them!!!!
Nobody's gonna buy 'em!

If you look up some of these addresses on Zillow you can see that they were originally listed a lit earlier than the dates indicated on thus list....quite a few were removed, only to be put back on the market a few months later.
Oh, by the way everyone, the houses on this bus tour that are shown in green shading, well, those have been on the previous bus tours.
So how come houses appear on the tour repeatedly????? DV Can you answer that? DV, YOU claim the city is in a renaissance so tell us why houses won't sell. I could understand if a house was in Hamilton hill, or MP and not selling. but tell us DV, a house in one of the finest areas of the city, and a nice hose at that, the one on Ardsley, tell us DV, if there is a renaissance, then why hasn't that house sold after a year????? Why have so many houses failed to sell after a year on the market???? You don't want to carry on an intelligent and rational discussion about that, huh? Just like you refuse to move INTO the city, right?
