The City of Schenectady is sinking under a massive pile of new debt. Total indebtedness is over $100 MILLION with $61 MILLION in new debt approved by McCheese and his DEM morons. These are Camden, NJ and Hull, CA numbers. Amazingly NOTHING is happening. No cuts have been announced. No layoffs, no reduction in the huge City car fleet nor DEM Friends and Family taxpayer phone plan. Proctor's is still paying no PILOTS. The City School kids are still owed over $3 MILLION. There is no one else to blame. City DEMS are fiscal incompetents who think another fee, another tax, another bond will fix everything. Not one of them has any small business experience which of course the federal government under Obama created. Where is the Gazetto/TU/Spotlight editorial writers?

This is happening in every North East City-no? But don't fret. McCheese has a plan according to both the Gazetto and Karl Erickson.

Well, we know this plan doesn't include cutting any City vehicles, cutting jobs, cutting overhead, saving any money in the budget....

what's the plan?

They going to start selling the City taxpayers plasma and every resident is forced to participate?

Are they holding a bottle drive?

Bake sale?

It was sad so sad
It was sad so sad
It was sad when Schenectady went down
To the bottom of the..
Husbands and wives, little children lost their homes
It was sad when the city went down

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Titanicville, NY our new name.. Erickson has a paper cup bailing. At least with the new no smoke policy, we'll be a healthy flat broke city. More cachet. We're the laughingstock of this area without a doubt.

Sounds like it could be another hit for Alias

Oh don't you worry, the next 3 hits will knock their cocks off.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

McLoughlin Take 2: The guy never runs out of questions
Friday, July 27, 2012
By John McLoughlin
Gazette Columnist

John McLoughlin is a freelance columnist and a veteran Capital Region journalist now at NewsChannel13. Opinions expressed in his column are his own and not necessarily the newspaper’s. Reach him at JMcLoughlin@WNYT.com.

Let me ask you something …

• And who takes home the Emmy: ABC News and its star investigative reporter, Brian Ross, informing America — erroneously — that the Colorado movie-house shooter might be a Tea Party member by the same name, or ABC News taking out of context words by the mother of the real shooter, making it appear that she acknowledged her son was indeed the bad guy, when all she was saying was, yes, the network had reached the “right person” on the phone, meaning her?

• Hey, I’m serious, don’t those Chinese-made duds for the U.S. Olympic team look like leftovers from the filming of “The Great Gatsby?”

• Get the feeling — from Schenectady City Hall and elsewhere — that we’re about five years from a gigantic fiscal calamity that will make us reconsider the very essence and non-affordability of some basic municipal services now taken for granted like cops and firefighters?

Sch'dy should declare backruptcy and let us vote some people in not connected to metroplex/proctors or any other "not for profit" that's really for profit.

McCheeseville is the laughing stock of Upstate NY. Only Da Bronx is more corrupt. 5 years for a fiscal calamity? The calamity happened last November when a DEM hack tricked enough idiots into voting for him. The City has 2 options-file for bankruptcy like Biden's hometown or a State Control Board. Erickson has not offered up one cut in 4 years in office. Another useless clapping seal for DEM implosion. Another car break in by the Thai gin mill last night. Avoid Erie like the plague.

No cuts in decades and who's surprised by this??? Not me, a taxpayer. All I see are my property and school tax bills skyrocket and the City going to hell in a handbasket. Where's the money going??

Not into the City...but into some Unions pension plans, free cars for City employees, McCheesys paying pension while collecting his mayoral salary....etc...etc....

EXACTLY! An unqualified Mayor paralyzed by indecision. Now $10 MILLION in the red with $100 MILLION in indebtedness. Unable to criticize his predecessor because they are both DEMS. Now the daily outrage. The Civil Service list for new police chief must be trashed because none live in the City. Why bother with this charade? Another McCheese moron must be found. But they need not live in the City. Another new low from the implosion crew. Do as I say-not as I do. Where is Vistor/the Gazetto/CBS 6 on this illegal power grab by pathetic McCheese? Silent, crickets chirping, hiding in the tall grasses.
