This guy doesn't comprehend very well. I wonder what his SAT scores were?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

The "GOVERNMENT" banned them??? Not some local mayor voicing his opinion???

Chicago Politician Will Ban Chick-fil-A From Opening Restaurant After Anti-Gay Comments

A Chicago politician said he will block Chick-fil-A from opening a restaurant in his ward, following anti-gay marriage remarks by the fast food chain's president.

Alderman Joe Moreno(D), who represents Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, plans to use his aldermanic privilege, a Chicago tradition in which City Council members defer to aldermen on local matters, to block the restaurant's permit.

"It's a very diverse ward-- economically, racially, and diverse in sexual orientation," Moreno told ABCNews.com. "We've got thriving businesses and we want more but at the very least don't discriminate against our LGBTQ folks."

It is not a boycott, the government is denying permits in Chicago's 1st Ward because of the CEO's personal beliefs.  Are you not reading the news or is your comprehension just that poor?

Some people need to make themselves feel superior, by promoting that others are inferior.
Sadly, it's a flaw that they seldom recognize.  It's often caused by poor self esteem or a lack
of self confidence.
A pity.

(Superiority complex:  A psychological defense mechanism in which a person's feelings of superiority
counter or conceal his or her feelings of inferiority)
I'm not sure, but I think the condition is treatable.

Has "Chick a barf" applied for a permit??? Have they been denied?  If so, what were the grounds for
the denial???

Cic considers one alderman's words (freedom of speech voicing an opinion) to be an action against the
constitution.     (Cicero gets so excited over any perceived offense)

Just wondering, how many times have you eaten at "Chick a barf?"  Is your opinion of their food due to actual dining events, or is it due to the news that has come out and their decisions running a business?  Just want to figure out where your comments are from, not trying to pre-judge.

Perceived offense?  A government official publically threatened to withhold permits to a private business because of personal views the CEO holds.  You keep on misrepresenting by calling it a boycott.  Nobody cares about boycotts, they don't work.  What people do get concerned about is, the government officials using their power of office and threatening to use the power of government to get people to conform to their personal views.  Chik-Fil-A doesn't violate any of the equal protection and discrimination laws; this official doesn't like the CEO's personal views on the definition of "gay marriage".

The left wing fascist love this march toward more and more fascism...It started with mandating the Catholic Organizations to offer as service the Federal Government demanded.  Now it is trickling down to the gutters of Chicago, where people in government power are becoming emboldened to use their position in government to force social conformity to the Party values.

No, I don't have a complex about it but I am intellectually superior and unlike you- I am not too lazy to do what it takes to get a BA and do graduate work.

Republicans slowly warming to gay marriage

In the latest Post polling, 61 percent of Republicans think gay marriage should be illegal, compared with
36 percent of independents and 25 percent of Democrats. Overall, 53 percent of Americans think gay
marriage should be legal, according to the most recent Post polling, while only 39 percent think it
should be illegal.
Since March, the number of Republicans who think gay marriage should be legal has declined 10 points
from 39 percent to 29 percent, to about where it was last year.
Among Republicans ages 18 to 44, the numbers are far different and evolving far more quickly
— opinion is currently evenly divided at 46 percent.

Still, it’s clear that gay marriage opposition is (slowly) on its way out, even among Republicans.

Washington Post
http://www.washingtonpost.com/.....gJQAOZCK2V_blog.html

I am sure if the Washington Post did a public opinion survey in 1850, at least 53% of Americans thought slavery should be legal and was a good thing.  Or if they surveyed Germans attitudes in the 1930's a majority would have said that putting Jewish people in ghettos, taking their property away and even eliminating them altogether should be legal and was a good thing.

Just because a majority think it ok and should be legal -- DOES NOT make it MORALLY RIGHT.

The use of public opinion polling has been going on for quite some time to justify the tyranny of the majority.  Though I don't think it is unconstitutional for the government to license and recognize a personal relationship, I definitely don't think it is the proper role for the government.  I also don't believe a federal law "defining marriage" to the states is the role of government.

I agree that civil marriage is among those items that the US Constitution left up to the individual states to decide.  But even the state should be limited in how it can define marriage - by natural law and centuries of moral tradition.
