Time to shut down
Bedford Rd. drag strip

I live close to Bedford Road in Schenectady, which recently seems to have become the local race track.
Because the street has no stop signs, and a straight shot from Eastern Avenue to Stanford Street, some drivers are inclined to put the pedal to the metal as soon as they get on the street.
You can hear them make the turn from Stanford and then floor the vehicle, racing down the street. It was bad during the school year, but now that summer is here, kids are more in danger of getting hit.
Occasionally the police have parked on a side street and collared a speeder, but it needs to happen more often before a child or other pedestrian gets hit.
Maybe the answer would be speed bumps that are only temporary and could be taken up before snow season. More police attention would also be a deterrent to speeders. Just the idea of a speeding ticket, with fines and insurance going up, could be enough to slow drivers down.
The other evening I watched two cars pretty much drag-race from Stanford toward Eastern, one of them without any license plates. There is no real reason to put anyone in danger because of a driver’s disregard for safety.
It would be a horrible thing for a child to be killed because you were in a rush.

Wonder how many times the writer has called the police about the problem.   I mean, she didn't write "I called them many times....")

Has she ever spoken at council meetings about this?

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

she must be a liar and trouble maker. watch her and out her on the enemies list, Visitor. Report her to the mayor and suckhole Gardner.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

What good would that do? First you have to listen to Mayor in training Liser Perazzoo promote every alcohol function at Proctors and horrible Margaret King promote the latest government flush like Fix Erie Later! We need more unmanned cameras-no? It no matter where a policeman sleeps as long as it is outside the County limits. Let the other idiots pay. I'm looking for a Tonko triple dip.
