On a day when a nut job in Colorado kills at least 12, and the hysteria in Saratoga has reached a fever pitch, we also have this..............

Grandmother: Bodies are of missing teens; two suspects to be charged in case July 20, 2012 Updated 10:47 a.m. By Steven Cook (Contact) Gazette Reporter
FLORIDA — The two bodies found in a Town of Florida field Thursday are those of the two missing Amsterdam teenagers, one of the boys’ grandmothers confirmed this morning.
The grandmother, Deborah Tiano, of Gloversville, also said family have been told that two fellow teenagers are facing charges related to the deaths.
Family members of two missing Amsterdam teenagers — 13-year-old Jonathan Dejesus and 16-year-old Paul Damphier — received word late Thursday night, confirming their worst fears, Tiano said.
“Jon and Paul, it is them,” an emotional Tiano told The Daily Gazette by phone this morning. Tiano is the grandmother of Jonathan. “They’re not releasing any details except that it is them and there are two young boys who have been arrested.”
She was unsure of the exact ages of those arrested, but believed them to be about 16.
It was also unclear what charges the two arrested face.
AMSTERDAM - Two city teenagers were charged Thursday in the deaths of two other city teenagers, whose bodies were found Thursday in a field off Snooks Corners Road in the town of Florida, state police said this morning.
Anthony E. Brasmiester, 16, of Amsterdam, was charged at the Amsterdam police station at 9 p.m. with two counts of intentional murder, state police reported.
Another youth, a 15-year-old Amsterdam boy whose name was not released because of his age, was charged with one count of intentional murder, police reported.

Maybe it should be the "Gloversville Gazette" instead?
Hey Shackleford! It just galls you to no end that the Gazette actually does things right occasionally, doesn't it........... .......................you should spend more time in-state instead of prepping your body for melanoma in the winter down there in the wrinkle state....................as far as your assertion in another thread that the TU website is somehow superior, well all I can say is it's a bloated piece of junk with more nonsense than I can take some times................yeah I use it as a resource, but I use plenty of different sources for my news..........that way I don't get dosed with the Kool-aid like you.............here's a few of the more hard hitting and insightful stuff I found on the TU website....................
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
Sue - That's not the story I heard. Not a 'bag of weed' at all. Supposedly it was plants they were growing out there. They knew these kids were coming to rip them off, so they staged and ambush and the shooter (who's family owned the property)nailed them with a bolt-action rifle with a scope on it. They were hoping to leave them out there for the animals to pick them clean so they wouldn't get caught. And supposedly their plan was working until someone got weak in the knees.
No matter what these boys were doing out there, this is a tragedy of epic proportions. One of the dead kids was f@cking 13 for Christ's sake --the alleged shooter was 15! That they would be picked off in a field one at a time and then left there for dead is just mind-blowing. I can't believe the BS meet in Saratoga is trumping this kind of news. And while I am deeply saddened by the tragedy in Colorado, this is RIGHT NEXT DOOR! The entire region should be up in arms about this. But nobody gives a $hit about AmsteRico. Just another dying city that is slowly chewing itself to pieces. You think Schenectady has problems. Man oh man. Take a walk west.
So it was not a nefarious handgun? Do we need deer rifle control now?

fully aware of the area west - where whole families make less than a first year educator of police officer
i guess we need to petition the video game makers to have shotguns with rocksalt in them so children make proper choices in the future on the subject of trespassing - i do not belive the issue lives here
either way the whole thing is disguesting as four lives or more are ruined
Good movie. Book written by Joseph Wambaugh, an ex-policeman. He also wrote for the Police Story series back in the late 70's/early 80's. If memory also serves Ted Danson,he of Cheers/CSI fame, was in the movie. He played one of the officers executed in the Onion Field. The other actor I believe was of Hispanic desent, but don't recall his name.
