Those roads, and public utilities sure helped me with my finals and then helped me find a job too.

I know this is sarcasm, because you obviously were home schooled and work at home now.

In a Mitt Romney ad last week, a stern Jack Gilchrist of Gilchrist Metal Fabricating tells
President Obama that his family -- and not the government -- built his company.

Trouble is... It's just not true!  (Facts are a very vague thing for Conservatives... they only use those
that agree with their agenda... if they don't agree... they make em up!)

Romney made this political ad... he could have used any one but he chose a small business that HAS SUCKED
FROM THE BIG GOVERNMENT TEAT!

Here are the ACTUAL FACTS:
Gilchrist "did receive some government help for his business" in 1999 when the company received $800,000
in tax-exempt revenue bonds "to set up a second manufacturing plant and purchase equipment to produce
high definition television broadcasting equipment." (But But But....... )

In addition, Gilchrist Metal received a U.S. Small Business Administration loan of around $500,000 in the 1980s
and has received several sub-contracts from the U.S. Navy.(This can't be!  If Obama had used this same
'small businessman' you'd hear the Right screaming)

As I've been posting all along... No one does it on their own... not even in Mitt Romney Commercials.

There are some Conservatives who do think that "THEY DID IT ON THEIR OWN"... Of course we all know
that's BS!
No one in America who operates in our business or government system became a success on their own.
Although an obvious fact... some on the Right think if they just keep repeating it over and over... it will
some how become true!

but most folks even with help don't become a success in 'projected' terms.....

everyone's definition of success is different....

ask most folks and they will say "I just want to be comfortable and meet my needs and some money in the bank."

anyone can do that....does everyone hit potholes in life...YOU BETCHA!!!!

I'm having a hard time understanding what they are referring to as success...

what is the definition of:

wealth
value
success
rich
poor...

in which case Mr. Obama is correct...no one gets where they are by themselves but, in what context, against what
plumb lines and in which statistical formula is he using?

don't ya just love it when someone projects value upon you, you pluck it from the air and say "I'd like to thank
blah blah blah for this watch, and for noticing me."

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

My fathers hands didn't build this company???
My hands didn't build this company???
Yea they did... with the help of  $800,000 in tax-exempt revenue bonds, funded by YOUR GOVERNMENT!
In addition to GOVERNMENT HELP FROM ME AND OTHER TAXPAYERS support with a  Small Business
Administration loan of $500,000 and  several sub-contracts from the U.S. Navy.

This loser say he "DID IT ALL ON HIS OWN... HIM AND HIS FAMILY".
The REALITY US taxpayers were holding his hand.  We fund his business expansion and he has the balls
to say "YEA I DID IT ALL ON MY OWN."
Good @sshole... give us back our $1.3 million taxpayer dollars!

that's the point.....so what you're saying is that you want him to send you a gold watch engraved with

'THANK YOU BOX O ROCKS'
YOU AND YOUR INCOME BRACKET OF ???

really?

wealth is management of assets/knowledge/gumption/energy/drive etc etc....

I don't work for this guy....I work for ME....I provide a service that others either CAN'T OR WON'T...because
I CHOSE TO.....

as for my tax dollars going to some dumb f'en IDA/Metroplex or other corporate welfare sh!t and DSS,,,I HAVE AN
ISSUE....

uncle sam doesn't need me...uncle sam wants to :

Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.
Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an a** together.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his a**, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his a**, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

.....I see stall fed oxen that are muzzled while yoked together with asses.....

No Senders, you've got it 100% Wrong.

I've made my position very clear.  This businessman who claims he DID IT ALL ON HIS OWN... was sucking
at the Government teat... $1.3 million dollars of MY and YOUR money went to this jerk to run his
business.
Yet he says "I DID IT".  I DID IT ALL ON MY OWN WITH NO HELP!...
What Obama was saying was that small businesses like these often succeed with the help of govt and
govt infrastructure. That's how it should be.

The Righties on this board think this @sshole did it all on his own... the FACTS say otherwise.  HE did it
just as Obama said he did... with the help of everyone else in this country.

Gold watch?  LMAO.  I'd be happy if this guy just acknowledged that the Government assistance that
he received at taxpayer expense helped him succeed.  I want this jerk to succeed.  I want all small
businessmen to succeed.  But don't go telling me that they did it on their own... NOT ONE DID IT ON
HIS OWN... and this jerk is a good example... He kinda forgot about OUR $1.3 million.

When GM failed and was staring at bankruptcy before the bailout, did they fail by themselves or was it a collective failure of government and everybody in America?  When the banks failed, was it the bankers running the banks that caused the bank failure, or did America collectively fail?  When the housing market collapsed and the American people lost all the equity in their homes, was it the private bank lending practices responsible for the failure, or was it the collective government that assisted them with that failure?

If successful businesses didn't succeed on their own and couldn't do it without the collective government, then on the flip side, the American business FAILURES is a result of the collective government failure.

Cic... have you ever taken a class on "logical argument"?  If not... then you should.

(Argument from final Consequences)
{Such arguments are based on a reversal of cause and effect, because they argue that something
is caused by the ultimate effect that it has, or purpose that is serves.}

Government was successful in assisting a business... whether the business succeeds or not.

Obama's initial argument was a fallacy argument called a False Cause.  The argument of final consequence exposes the fallacy.  Good job Box, you've deconstructed Obama's fallacious argument.  Thanks for playin.

FALSE CAUSE
A causes B (without real proof that this causal relationship actually exists).

This causal relationship is often claimed when there is correlation between A and B (that they vary together) or a relatively distant causal connection.

Actually the government made me, and I owe all to them. So every day, I take what I earn and send it all to them because they need it and they know better what to do with it. Maybe they will give me some back for food and such and then I will be glad that I am taken care of.

Georgia lumberyard owner hammers Obama on 'You didn't build that'
By Maegan Vazquez
Published August 01, 2012
FoxNews.com

Ray Gaster poses in front of one of his "you didn't build that" response signs.
President Obama's message to entrepreneurs that "you didn't build that" prompted one Georgia business owner to respond with a not-so-subtle retort.
"I built this business without gov't help. Obama can Kiss my a**," reads the sign outside Gaster Lumber & Hardware in Savannah, Ga. Owner Ray Gaster posted that and two similar ones at all three of his company's locations in response to Obama's comments during a speech to supporters in Virignia, which struck a nerve with small business owners around the nation......................>>>>..............>>>>................Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012.....ebate/#ixzz22Nxkb7FY

Obama's point all along on this issue is that 'others' helped this man  build his business.  To be specific, the
Taxpayers of his community set up the infrastructure that let this mam build his business.

Looking at the pic I can see a very nice road leading to Ray's business.  Did Ray build it? Of course not.
Nor did Ray supply the water electricity sewer and internet connection necessary for Ray's lumber yard.
If Ray has any employees working for him... did Ray educate those employees???

With out TAXPAYER help... Ray has built his business and hopefully it's a successful one.  Now it's time for Ray
top give back to the community that helped Ray succeed.  PAY YOUR TAXES RAY! ... And smile when you do it
cause you didn't build that business all by yourself!

Well, the big lie is the notion that GOVERNMENT must extract the money by force(and if you don't they'll throw you in a cage) to build roads and infrastructure, because these businesses and society as a whole would never do that voluntarily.  It is Obama's and Box's view that people need to be forced to build the roads that are needed for commerce to happen.  Without the wisdom of the government, Gaster Lumber and Hardware would have been built in the middle of a desolate forest with no no roads, water, and electricity, and no access to its customers.
