Almost all major inventions are not a one time idea come true... they are usually based the successes and failures
of others in their field.

~ Building on the contributions of other developers over the previous three quarters of a century, Edison made
improvements to the idea of incandescent light, and entered the public consciousness as "the inventor" of the
light bulb...

No one does it on their own!

The cliff the Wright Bros. jumped off wasn't zoned for aerial experimentation and I believe the zoning board issued a variance.  It would have never happened without the variance.  I think it was a Republican Administration that issued the variance.

Give us a break with your blind allegiance.  Can't you see that Mr. Obama showed how utterly clueless he is to the reality of American history - actually history in general since individual initiative was around a long time before there was an America, economics and business.

If he had just said it once, one could say "well maybe he has spent too much time around Joe Biden (you know -- Mr. Foot-In-His-Mouth who is well-known for his stupid comments) but since the Mr. Obama has repeated the line a few times now---- one must be convinced that he actually does believe what he said.

Mr. Obama is completely out of touch with reality and doesn't deserve a second term.

they had help because they looked and because he offered....BY CHOICE.....anyone of them could walk away if they wanted....

Obama holding up the "you're not that important in self because your neighbor exists too.".....everyone contracts with others
it's just not some kind of hippie commune love fest......

IT'S BUSINESS.....don't like it? get a piece of land work it and be your own boss....own clock, own choice, own family etc etc....

industrializing has made us what we are.....as did our fiat system controlled by the federal thugs....with 'runners' called
politicians...apparently they didn't do it on their own either.....

One more time s l o w l y...
The government... the taxpayers... The American people is who Obama is talking about.  No one, not even
you Shadow,  makes it on their own. (We've already had this discussion).

Did you make it on your own DVOR?  Did the "GOVERNMENT" help you some where along the way?
WIth your education, with fire protection, with infrastructure???
Are you an independent Island who, with out any help whatsoever succeeded in life???

Of course not.  None of us make it on our own.  We all need each other to succeed.

Why do you assume that "SOMEONE QUIT".  In many cases, others did 90% of the work, and the final
"INVENTOR" only did 10%.  HE had the key to finish the job, but often no idea how to do the beginning.

but Obama playing RobinHood in a fiat system controlled by Federal gangsters with himself as a 'runner' is sad....

of course I'm where I am and you are where you are because we used the system....and that is exactly what government
is.....a system....however it can tend to feed itself by dividing and conquering the masses via class/race etc....

if he's trying to save the system by telling the masses to 'love it', I fail to see the success....it's a system....

it's NOT about the rich/poor or black/white.....it's all about the american public growing balls and some wings to
fly from big daddy government nest....

keeping civility amongst the masses requires a COMMON enemy....without definition of course,,,they call them 'rich'

Obama IS one of the 'gang'.....he's NOT a king/NOT a dictator etc etc.....NO PRESIDENT IS....

the problem with America is that we have evolved into thinking President = king/queen.....

they aren't bluebloods but they aren't King George/Jesus either.....

again, if you need a cup of sugar or some flour, I'm right there for you....as I'm sure you would be for me

P.S. watch out for the snakeoil salesman

Obama was not saying that we need other to succeed -- he was saying we need the government to succeed.  His comments were colossally stupid -- akin to his insisting that the US has 57 states  (actually 58 ... since what he said was he had visited 57 US states and still had one more to visit).

It is interesting Obama makes a mistake -- many, many mistakes -- and the media tries to make him look good and/or sweep his stupid remarks under the carpet----  Dan Quayle made a mistake  (the Potato/Potatoe controversy ..although technically the organization that sponsored the spelling bee's own documents showed that either spelling was acceptable)  and he was ridiculed and torn apart.     Even Dan Quayle's "Murphy Brown" comment was used by the press to mock him -- when even Candice Bergman admitted that she agreed with Quayle's comments about Hollywood/Media and its negative impact on youth and society.

Can you explain why a supposedly intelligent man can like Mr. Obama can not give a speech without reading a damn teleprompter?   And when he is supposedly "speaking sincerely from his heart" and the teleprompter fails --- he suddenly is left speechless?

All recent US presidents used teleprompters... Many, like Obama have also done non scripted 'town
hall' meetings, where answers are spontaneous.
Obama's also had interviews with news personalities where there is no teleprompter... Brian Williams,
George Stephanopoulos, 60 Minutes, The View, and late night shows.
For me the teleprompter is a non issue.
