WHO would pay $96,000 for a house on Moyston St ??????????????????

There's that guy, Mr Rodriguez, who speaks at every meeting lately, he hired a professional to grieve his assessment.  I mean, that's better than a typical homeowner who may not know how to grieve.

And the board denied him ?????

How about everyone on these boards (cheerleaders for downtown and "nayboobs of reality" alike) attempt to explain HOW the board of assessment could possibly deny someone a reduction on their assessment given the actual sale prices.

Based on the EVIDENCE, let's have an intelligent and rational discussion to see if we can come up with a reason why the board of assessment would tell someone that their house is worth $92,256 (based on that 4% thing the mayor said he was reducing values by, the guy's house is assessed for $96,100).

Market value is determined by what actual sale prices.   Here are the houses in that general area that sold dating back to last fall.   These are the sale prices of houses that sold.

The "market value" column is what the city claims the houses are worth.   See what they sold for.   What is the basis for the board to claim "insufficient data"

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

It would be nice if everyone--EVERYONE--who posts on these boards to just answer with a simple Yes or No as to whether you would pay $96.000 to buy a house on Moyston St.

Mt Rodriguez is another victim of the Metroplex fundies.

20 People showed up for the Council meeting

Privilege of the floor:

Mr Rodriguez

Good evening I was denied on my assessment my prop is assessed at $96000, no sidewalks, no curbs. I just don't understand how I could lose my appeal.

Kevin Chaires

Hamilton Hill residents want curbs sidewalks and the city wants the owners to pay half.

Next speaker

Schenectady Police need to stop calling blacks niggers.

James Bitner

1.Price Chopper, Ellis Hospital and Union college are tax exempt. what the Hell?
2. Let's sell advertisements on Fire Trucks and police cars.

Marva Isaacs

Thank you to all the council members, Dom Dagostino, and others for attending my party

Mary Maclane

The mayor said the next chief of police will live in Schenectady. Will he stay for his term or allow the contract rule of six years then you can get out. The man also said he wants to reorganize the SPD. Will he abolish the seniority sytem, because seniority gets all the overtime. Overtime should be given to the lowest wage earners first, not the most expensive.

Musta' been an ACORN/Commie party rally.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Every single resident should hold back on their next tax payment in protest!!!
It is the struggling taxpayers that is the oil in the dysfunctional machine.
Hold back on the next tax bill and try NOT to buy a single thing in schenectady county.....in protest!!!!!

The city would collapse and would be FORCED to make some changes!!!!
