Think I'm kidding?  I was running late getting to work this AM (about 8:10 AM) and I was getting a coffee @01:45 the Cumby's by Golub.  Someone in their "official" County vehicle was there too, unless there was a county emergency @01:45 Cumby's, which I didn't see.

Gotta say here folks.......who gives a crap?? REALLY!!! Everyone is beating up a private citizen about a stupid sign while rotterdam's elected officials are making sweetheart deals behind closed doors that will cost the taxpayers a bundle. Law suits, tax breaks, how many deputy clerks?, developers getting a pass, increased crime, water restrictions/equipment problems, no transparency and the list goes on.........but some rotterdamians are MORE concerned about a SIGN???? OMG!!

Ahem,...cough, cough...I didn't say to buy bottled water.

You can use as much water as you want inside your house.

Yes, and it has caused much outrage, because he places a small lawn care sign on the cleaned up properties.

Does this logic now apply to all (volunteers) who do the same in Schenectady at all the city parks?  Should they as well now be allowed to erect business signs in Cental Park and all the other City parks they clean up?   Possibly a win-win.   City Parks get cleaned up in exchange for business signage.   Suppose City could even rent the cleaned up space once the volunteers clean it up.

Well the person in question did run for the unpaid position on the school board, and one of his ideas was to get volunteer businesses to pay for athletic programs to ease the burden on the taxpayers.

So what if they become the Walgreen Warriors going up against the Paesan's Wolverines.

Local businesses have traditionally stepped up and supported little leagues other sports.

Back in the day it was IUE-CIO Petrucci Rugs etc.

Today many local businesses still support sports programs.

Schenectady-JC Little League: Baseball 2012 Teams

T-ball
| Martin, Harding and Mazzotti | Mr. Dingaling | Price Chopper | Stewarts | Lil Ones Daycare | Electric City Motors | Allstate | Schenectady Firefighters (S.P.F.A.) |

Farm
| Marotta's Pizza | Patrick's Barber Shop | Rotterdam Elks | Focus Construction | CDPHP | Stewarts |

Minors
| Deluke | Certa Pro Painters | Scott's Lawn Service | 1st Advantage Dental | I Love New Yok |

Majors
| Montone Tax | Marino's Pizza | Aumiller's Pharmacy | JDJ Comfort Systems |

I say let businesses donate anything they want to ease the tax burden.

Central Park, "maintained by CVS."

Or even some of the Metroplex Corporate giants that are tax exempt.

Yes, I can see it now. The Rotterdam Metroplex/Galesi Group little league park.

businesses should be able to donate to things that are not 'system' paid for....

we already pay for upkeep of town property/water/sewer/police/records etc etc.....although I applaud Garrow for effort to
clean up a town area, technically the town stole his time/$$....

it's been paid for....

Going back to the original topic of this thread, while the signs that were on these triangles seem to be gone, whether laying in the middle of the road or not, there are some of the same signs that are popping up at other places, whether lawn care has been provided or not.  Go look at the side of the road on Duanesburg Rd (Route 7) right by the I-88 / Thruway exchange.  No work done, possibly even private land, but signs signifying this guy's "taking care of it."  Not criticism, just stating the facts.  Go check it out yourself.

That Robert Garrow guy ought to go out and spend 1000s and buy 500 signs and put them every where. See how that looks.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

That Robert Garrow guy you speak of died in 1978.

You probably missed the story.

But please, don't let ignorance stop you.

WOW!!! I haven't been on this thread in awhile!!
I can't believe that you folks are still even discussing it!!! OMG!!

Rotterdam must be running absolutely perfectly!
All Rotterdamians must like the way their town is being handled!
I never saw such a bunch who find nothing else to bit#ch about except watering their lawns and a piece of grass that got mowed!!!! OMG!!!

Looks like there are no more issues in the town clerk's office or the senior gossip center, or the rpd contract, or the law suits...eh?
