just what is the definition of "Good"

not using taxpayer money for private interest?

not creating a new tax or usage fee ?

question
why is trash pickup in the city done by government and not by private business?

moving your business from one location to another on your own behalf because of changes in your customer base?

a reduction in government staff?

a reduction in government benefits to match those of private business - the arguement that government employees make less so they need better benefits is no longer valid

question
in order to reduce the police force how do you raise moral values so the police force is not necessary - who's responsibility is this?

what about the parks?  isnt green space is a positive thing?  - how should it be delt with?

I mean, think about it.  MVP moved downtown into a wonderful building.  That sounds great.  Problem?  Jobs stolen from Rotterdam.  Along with that, they also took taxpayer money in order to build their parking garage. I would be willing to guess that they're still under a PILOT, if they're paying any property taxes at all

I believe, but someone correct me if I'm wrong......but mvp is a non-profit and doesn't pay any taxes.

Well does anything good happen - yes.

Downtown went from a collectiuon of old buildings full of derelicts and pigeon droppings and now the buildings are full and the City has the appearance of being revived.  Fully appreciate the
complaints aboiut the tax free status - but what can you do when the businesses have all the leverage?

Next evolution will have to be demolishing all buildings that cannot become restored and hopefully erduce the number of one family dwellings.

RE: crime - need to keep kids busier.  Cut down on truancy and almost mandate some type of summer program.

Sue agree about the benefits buyt that will take some time, probably trhu attrition.  About 1/3 of PD are tier 5 employees.  Health insurance is the next thing to fix - Might see a swing towards the higher  deductible plans.

The history of this kind of change is not good.
Private trash haulers will low ball a bid for trash pick up... Then once the community disbands it's
DPW crew and sells all it's trash hauling equipment, they will up their prices yearly and the community has no
option option.

Simple fix Box, pass a federal law forcing everybody to purchase garbage pick up.  Everybody will produce garbage at some point in their lives, so why not force everybody to pay Waste Management or Allied Waste money for garbage service?  The bill can be called 'The Affordable Refuse Disposal Act'.  It only makes sense.

why cant the individual shop for the best product and service that suits them vs a flat rate(ish) for all - there is more than one trash hauler in the area

whay does government have to be involved other to pass a law requiring citizens dispose of their trash at a transfer station

Believe a certain modification is in order to your statement containing the sentence "reduce the number of one family dwellings".   Point of fact: the current Mayor stated sometime last year that his #1 preference for home ownership in the city was FOR 1 family owner/occupied dwellings, followed by 2 family owner occupied and lastly apartment type units.   In fact the Mayor mentioned an initiative to curtail via code/ ordinance to retake/prevent homes from being cut up into more apartrment stock.
