Shadow, I don't like this law, but your calling it Obama care when Romney created it shows a real lack of comprehension of the issue. If you think the Reps hands are clean on this then your living in fantasy world. This law will never go away as it lines the pockets of insurance company's. The same company's that back both the Reps and Dems. The Reps will say they will repeal it, but if you believe they would given the chance, well your just brainwashed.

it's called Obamacare because he raised his hand during the elbow rubbing and got picked to carry it, waving it's flag......well beyond the insurance companies as enemies....it's atlas shrugged ..
we allow the 'existence' of the virtual insurance......
and we believe it
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
The Supreme Court decision that forcing all Americans to purchase health insurance is constitutional, is just one step closer to the United States becoming a socialist country — which I believe is on President Obama’s agenda. The direction this country is taking is so alarming on many levels. This is not the kind of change we want for our country. Get out and vote in November.
A Better Rotterdam you libs always forget that states do have the power to regulate health-care but the federal government was never supposed to have that much control over the citizens. Romney was the governor of Mass. and even on a state level it hasn't worked and he has admitted that. Trying to regulate health-care for 330 million people will not end well for any of us. If the health-care law is so wonderful why are Obama, his family, and all of Congress exempt from this law.

A quite typical Right Wing Reaction... The Fear Factor is SOCIALISM!!! (Long Blood Curdling Scream) This LTE isn't about ObamaCare, it actually concerns a very successful propaganda campaign based on fear. The Right Wing establishment is running from Socialism as if ObamaCare = Socialism.
Who will you be dealing with when you buy this mandated insurance??? The SOCIALIST Government???? NO! You'll be buying from private commercial insurance companies, just like pre Obamacare.

Albany Medical Center has already sent out letters to everyone/business/corporation/entity that they are associated with. Albany Medical Center will NOT do businesses with any of these entities that do NOT participate in the FEDERAL HEALTH CARE PROGRAM!!

Which is precisely what I have held all along --- Health Care and Health Insurance are state issues. And the fact that Congress is exempt from the program proves something is wrong with the plan -- If it is so good every American should be covered by it with no exceptions.
The other provision which I find enormously wrong is the "Cadillac insurance policy" provision -- which will tax individuals who purchase what more insurance than the government wants them to. The fact that this provision is in the law proves that the whole plan was a farce/fraud from the start. If an individual American has chosen to purchase WITH HIS OR HER OWN MONEY an insurance policy that offers greater coverage than what the government wants -- it the INDIVIDUAL'S RIGHT to do so. This provision will hurt some folks who bought Log-Term Care Insurance and chose to pay for policies that cover more than 2 or 3 years and which provide high daily/annual coverage (that means these folks actually bought a plan to keep ahead of inflation)- ---- In my opinion it is absolutely unconstitutional and criminal for Congress and the President to penalize Americans for buying insurance policy on their own.

MORE insurance is unfair....We want people to have health insurance because we are concerned about their health, BUT, they can't have TOO MUCH insurance and care TOO MUCH about their health.
Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning, White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew said the mandate penalty is not a tax and the Supreme Court ruling didn’t make it so. And in any event, he said, very few people will have to pay it.
“First of all, the law is clear, it’s called a penalty. Second of all, what the Supreme Court ruled is that the law is constitutional. Actually, they didn’t call it a tax. They said it was using the power under the constitution that permits it. It was not labeled,” Lew said.
“This is a penalty. It’s something that only 1% of people who can afford insurance and choose not to get it will pay. Everyone who has insurance, everyone who chooses to buy insurance will not pay it.
(The Penalty/Tax only applies to the Dead Beats... not to everyone else.)

They just can't purchase TOO MUCH insurance (Cadillac Insurance), then they will be penalized for being TOO RESPONSIBLE.
Box people aren't that stupid, if you call it a fee or a mandate if it's coming out of their pocket it's considered a tax no matter how you want to spin it. Obama said that he would not raise taxes, fees, mandates one dime on anyone making less than $250,000 per year and he lied and I hope it cost him dearly at the poles in November.

So I guess Shadow votes on the side of those Free Loaders who would rather not buy any health insurance, then when they are seriously sick or injured... The REST OF US... THE TAXPAYERS, CAN PAY THEIR HEALTH CARE BILLS.
So much for personal responsibility.

I don't think that's his argument. The argument is, those that choose not to pay for health insurance have to find other means to pay for their treatment. Just like any other service rendered, you have to pay for it. For people that don't have the means - there is already state run medicaid.
This is the federal government controlling the health care of every man women and child in the United States.
