Loch Ness Monster used to debunk evolution in state-funded school

"It sounds like a hoax, but it's apparently true: The Loch Ness Monster is on the science class
syllabus for kids at Eternity Christian Academy in Westlake, Louisiana.
As reported by the Herald Scotland (which must track all Loch Ness-related news), a school that
will receive tax-payer dollars, will teach kids that the mythological sea creature is real in order
to debunk the theory of evolution. So pay attention: That will be on the test.
Eternity Christian Academy uses the  fundamentalist A.C.E. Curriculum to teach students "to see
life from God's point of view."
According to the Herald, one textbook, Biology 1099, reads, "Are dinosaurs alive today? Scientists
are becoming more convinced of their existence. Have you heard of the 'Loch Ness Monster' in
Scotland? 'Nessie' for short has been recorded on sonar from a small submarine, described by
eyewitnesses, and photographed by others. Nessie appears to be a plesiosaur."
Starting in the fall, thousands of schoolchildren will receive publicly funded vouchers to attend
private schools, some of which are religious. Religious schools in Louisiana will receive public
funding as part of a push from Louisiana's governor, Bobby Jindal, to move millions of tax dollars
to cover tuition for private schools, including small bible-based church schools. Money will fund
schools that have "bible-based math books" and biology texts that refute evolution."

With this type of education, those poor students will be lost in the world of facts and science.
They'll end up like... well... like Cicero

I agree, get the taxpayer out of it.  Some schools force district taxpayers to pay the Democrat Party fund raising organization Planned Parenthood to teach 'outer course'.  What's next, teaching the science of unhooking the bra with one hand?

Arguing with a creationist is like telling a child about Santa Claus.
They don't believe you, and they hate you for it.

I agree!  Same goes with arguing with authoritarians.  They hate the suggestion of leaving people alone.  They need people to be taught to believe in the state approved Santa Claus'.

the bible should be allowed to be read in schools along with the torah and others.....or how about music lyrics?

who cares if the bible is read in school...if the schools weren't so hell bent on teaching how one is be sociologically and stuck
with teaching kids to learn to teach themselves this conversation wouldn't even be happening...

they cant prove god
they cant prove evolution

They can't prove evolution???
The PROOF of evolution is the same PROOF of many every day occurrences that we take as TRUTH.
You can't causatively PROVE that smoking causes lung cancer, but you can PROVE it statistically.  The
issue of evolution isn't an issue of PROOF... it's an issue of religion vs science.  For most people,
rational thought takes precedence over the magic, miracles, demons & superstition of religion.
Some however can't face the day with out a reassurance of a GOD looking over them... for those
people, reality is just to real... they'll stick with the magic, miracles, demons & superstition of religion.

Not so long as the compulsory schooling system can take their children and sit them through the approved curriculum which includes the teaching of Darwinism.  It may take time, but the statist will instill the state approved values into those God fearing people.  If they can't, they'll die trying.  They will not quit the crusade to convert those non-believers to the civil religion of the state.
