Believe me, there is plenty of suppression of religion in the U.S. The Democrats suppress Christianity and the Republicans suppress Muslims.(over simplified) Religion is right where the government wants it, under their control. As long as the government can claim "radicalism" or "extremism" Americans will fully support the violent suppression of religion. Clinton proved it during Waco and Ruby Ridge, Bush did it with the passage of the Patriot Act and war on "radical Islam", as we drone Muslim around the world. The Catholic Church has just been mandated to comply with the state. That isn't suppression? The NYPD was spying on NYC Mosques...What reality are you living in?
Its how the government works, they have all the time and resources to get whatever they want, what we want doesn't matter any more. As said the constitution means nothing to them and sadly the people are to dumbed down to even know the role of the government as it was supposed to be. Tell you what you can eat
Tell you what you can consume
Tell you how you can defend yourself
Tell you what you can buy

Wiretap you without probable cause
Detain you without probable cause
Raid your home without a warrant
Confiscate your possessions even if found not guilty
Kill you without sentencing
