Kateri Tekakwitha, Holy Mother Church adds another one.



On a personal belief level, how I see it, yes there is God. God may be an old white guy with a billy goat beard, a flash of light or something out of Star Wars. That does not matter, I believe that is what is important. The glass always 'half full' is better than spiritual oblivion. Not believing is just that, which raises the question; Did God make man or man invent God to fulfill a need. I am betting on the former.



Getting back to Kateri, the Lilly Of The Mohawk. "Kateri was born the daughter of a CAPTIVE Algonquin mother and a Mohawk Chief ..." Indians or Native Americans (NA's) were not perfect, they made war on one another & kept CAPTIVES as slaves. Sounds like white guys to me. That is what Kateri was, a slave. Maybe Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson should canonize Kateri & not The Church. Sorry, I forgot, Kateri was not African-American so her slavery experience has no merit.



Kateri is to the Catholic Church what Rubio is to the Republicans, a draw to a particular demographic.
