Maybe he got his reply from the board of assessment saying "insufficient data" when he tried to get his house assessment reduced.

Maybe he's been cited for code violations and McC told him that he can't get any financial assistance to pay for repairs, that financial assistance, i.e., handouts, are only available to the downtown millionaires and poilitically connected.

Maybe the guy is a homeowner in the city, so heavily burdened with taxes in order to fund downtown, that he has seen his own house lose value, he's probably put his house up for sale two years ago and no one wants to move into the city (not even DV), so his house doesn't sell.

Maybe McC is taking his house because the guy has no money to pay his own taxes because he has been forking over his meager income to the millionaires downtown.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Oneida needs to close. Mt Pleasant should be a High School and all primary schools go to K-8. King needs to close or become a grade school. City Hall is such a disaster no one looks at the horrible schools. They want to open K-2 schools and bus more students in every direction. Howe School should reopen on Baker Avenue K-8. They can look forever and never replace John Y.

but, the guy is going to 'recover' from his attempt at hanging himself.....now isn't that interesting....why would we stop him? so he can recover? recover from what? his tax bill? bad medical
diagnosis?

and the problem is that he was doing outside a school? really?

planned suicide
planned parenthood

which shall we have outside our schools.....ooooo my.....what a difficult decision....whatever we can make more palatable will win.....

Only a low down and despicable nayboob would try to make this tragedy a POLITICAL issue.....  Hence I have one thing to say to them: Burn in hell!

Sorry, I think K-8 grade is a horrible idea. Do you know what 8th graders are like? They're having sex, doing drugs, joining gangs...not at all what I want around my 5 year old. The needs and behaviors of 7th and 8th graders are so different from those in the beginning grades that I find it inappropriate to put them all together. Maybe in a very small district, or in a small private school where you have a lot of parental involvement, but here in Schenectady...I think they are going to regret it.

they should have left the school system alone, neighborhood schools where kids WALK to school, elementary K-6, middle school 7-9 and HS 10-12.

And they should focus on reading writing arthmetic and make sure kids are ready to go on to the next grade, because when they keep promoting them without the necessary skils when they get to middle school they are sunk.
