NISKAYUNA – The Democratic race to replace retiring state Assemblyman Democrat Bob Reilly is on, as what appears to be the last candidate formally announced Sunday his intentions to enter the primary in September.
Niskayuna Supervisor Joseph Landry held his announcement in the gazebo on Town Hall grounds, surrounded by many of the Democratic heavy hitters of Schenectady County, including Mayor Gary McCarthy and County Attorney Chris Gardner.
Landry is the only Schenectady County candidate in the Democratic race for the 110th district, with the three others from Reilly's hometown of Colonie – Albany County Legislators Phil Steck and Tim Nichols, and Kevin Frazier, an aide to retiring Assemblyman Ron Canestrari.
