SCHENECTADY — A Schenectady teen was shot in the upper leg Monday.
The Schenectady Police Department said Jonathan Monforte, 17, was hit at 2 p.m. Monday while in the area of Strong and Schenectady streets.
Police received 911 calls that shots had been fired and found Monforte. He was treated at the scene by police, then transported to Ellis Hospital and eventually to Albany Medical Center.
His wounds were not considered life-threatening.
The shooting is under investigation by detectives, and no arrests have been made. Police said they do not know if the shooting is related to an earlier shooting Sunday at Harmony Hall.

Hey, such comments are just negativity. People must not be informed about fires and shootings. Nor should people be informed that the downtown properties, owned largely by the millionaires and/or politically connected, are totally exempt from paying taxes and that financially struggling homeowners must pay the taxes of the millionaires on top of paying their own taxes.
Remember, this is negativity, you know DV claims we are nayboobs of negativity. See, the city is in this wonderful renaissance, is so grand and so wonderful that DV ABSOLUTELY REFUSESto even rent an apartment IN the city. And buy a house at an incredibly low lost while getting a mortgage that exceeds the market value of the house, no money down, some taxpayer subsidy obviously, and a mortgage rate in these days of all time historical low rates, that has got to be an incredible bargain, an investment, and yet DV ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to make the so called "investment." Actually, he knows full well it's too dangerous to move into the city and buying a house in the city would mean a HUGE financial LOSS combined paying far too high taxes and getting lousy services----DV knows it, but refuses to admit it on these boards.

You should see the police running up and down Altamont avenue near Walmart each night- 3 or 4 cop cars at a time. Last night around 6 pm there was some big incident next to Taco Bell. Friday night they were out in force with floodlights blaring looking for some other assailant. The punks are out of hand all over the Crane St/Altamont Ave area like a war zone and the cop shill from the democrap admin comes on this board soft pedaling everything. WHAT A JOKE. This will be the worst, most out-of-control summer we have ever experienced. Meanwhile in Colonie the cops are spending the time looking for residents having an open-burn (bonfire in the backyard)...In Saratoga county they pick up a few drunks and there is always that deer/auto collision to deal with...yeah we have a scanner. We KNOW what is going on.
