Sale was probably for some manipulative dem political purpose.   Who knows.   The ONE FACT is that the taxpayers who are FORCED to pay the taxes on this almost $30 MILLION building will NEVER NEVER NEVER be told the truth.

Now this is interesting (your link)

Quoted Text
To qualify for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, an organization must meet the following requirements set by Congress:

Quoted Text
The organization must be organized and operated exclusively for religious, educational, scientific, or other charitable purposes.

Proctors - exclusivelly for religious purposes?    NO WAY
Proctors - exclusively for educational purpose?    NO WAY
Proctors - exclusively for scientific purposes?   NO WAY
Proctors - exclusively for charitable purposes?    ABSOLUTELY NO WAY:
Proctors is not a theater run by and with productions put on by LOCAL RESIDENT volunteers (like civic players or SLOC
Proctors charges often $100 for a show ticket!   Even at $50 a person, that CLEARLY is NOT a charitable purpose as few if any families can afford those ticket prices.
Proctors does not provide charity in the city.

Quoted Text
Net earnings may not inure to the benefit of any private individual or shareholder.

ROFL.   It benefits fat Morris!   With his LAVISH over $200,000 salary!    A salary with which he was able to flee the city while ILLEGALLY getting two STAR exemptions!

Quoted Text
No substantial part of its activity may be attempting to influence legislation.

Hmmm.   One of Proctors employees not just "influences" legislation, SHE WRITES IT!!!!

Quoted Text
The organization may not intervene in political campaigns.

Alright, I won't state that holding a debate is "intervening" in a political campaign because it is a place that is a place with many seats, i.e., to accommodate many who may want to attend.   But we would have to watch the future or look in the past to see if intervening exists

Quoted Text
The organization’s purposes and activities may not be illegal or violate fundamental public policy.

I'll guess purposes are not illegal.   Whether anything violates fundamental public policy, well, probably no violations there simply because the dems probably have changed public policy to preclude violations and favor Proctors.

Wouldn't they be violating that just with OSM and the production facilities?

Hum?

Former Mayor/County Leg Karen Johnson works at Proctors.

City Council member Leeza works there.

Volunteers need to PAY to volunteer.

The demolished transfinders building was sold for $600K, yet the million dollars in facade and plex grants from 5 years ago went up in smoke.

When will the audit for Proctors happen???????

From the Proctors website:

"BOCES Funds
Talk with your administration about using BOCES funds to finance your trip to Proctors. Many local school districts have BOCES funds available and ready to use!"

That's right!! Use MORE taxpayers dollars to attend Proctors which is already supported with taxpayers money.

Nah, that's not double dipping.....

Fat Morris has been running around the country teaching other non profits how to dodge taxes. While Fat Morris invests in money losing road companies, takes buildings off the Downtown tax rolls and refuses to pay ANY payment in lieu of taxes. Of course he should be audited and forced to repay the County taxpayers who he has been screwing for years. Now he has stooges on both the County Leg and joke City Council to do his bidding. Only in Schenectady County can someone rip off the public/volunteers while winning awards from pathetic McMayor.

Oh, just wonderful.   6th to 8th grades.    Forget the reading, writing, math, science, grammar and spelling.    No need to learn the basics.   After they score low on standardized tests in the basics, start making them think they are going to be famous film makers someday.   They will be entering high school and not have the least interest in the important stuff to learn.   Just like Schdy schools highlight the sports, lavish the players with praise, making them THINK they will make millions in sports, the kids are equally being taught this film stuff at a time in their lives when they should be going directly home after school and buckling down to do hours of homework leaning to read, write, spell, and math, but instead the message is "hey kids, you can learn film making and you can forget about learning all that hard math, science, reading, history, etc, you will be able to make a movie and you will make millions"

And after our tax money is spent to renovate and operate Proctors, and after our tax money pays it's CEO a lavish salary, and after our tax money teaches the kids (who are much to young to decide on a career) how to make a movie, and after our tax money sends kids to Proctors, after all this, the kids grow up knowing how to make a movie but can't get a job (or they can play basketball in school but not even a foreign pro teach wants them in adulthood), these kids become adults and our tax dollars support them because they can't get a job.

Typical message from Schenectady.

Also MC1, Proctors is stealing the money from school budgets by getting 'BOCES' funds to pay for students. Why the hell do you think they gave Transfinders the building next door? Transfinders is linked to school bussing....free trips to and from Proctors???

Please Proctors GIVES NOTHING back to the City!!! They take Plex money, take the school-taxpayer money and federal/state 'grants'. It's sham of corruption with the label 'fine arts' on it.
