In other business, the council agreed to pave 6.9 miles of roads through the same hot-recycling method that was tested last year. Machines will heat up the asphalt, inject fresh oil, and smooth it back down. The roadway looks freshly paved, and is completed at a fraction of the cost of the traditional repaving, but won’t last as long as roads that are ripped out and rebuilt from the base. The roads being repaved are: Adams Road from Wendell Avenue to Stratford Road Albany Street from Brandywine Avenue to Steuben Street Ashmore Road from Central Parkway to Eastern Parkway Haigh Street from State Street to Central Parkway Central Parkway from Ashmore Road to Woodland Avenue Chiswell Road from Albany Street to McDonald Avenue Dean Street from roughly Union Street to the city line Eastern Avenue from Nott Terrace to DeGraff Street Franklin Street from Nott Terrace to Jay Street Jerome Avenue from Poplar Street to Helderberg Avenue Lenox Road from Union Street to Gerling Street Liberty Street from Nott Terrace to Jay Street The Plaza from McClellan Street to roughly Garner Avenue The Plaza from Dean Street to the city line Randolph Road from Oakland Avenue to Nott Street Rugby Road from Parkwood Boulevard to Brandywine Avenue Teller Street from Elliott Avenue to Putnam Street Union Avenue from Union Street to Wendell Avenue Van Curler Avenue from The Plaza to Rugby Road Watt Street from Lake Boulevard to Henry Street Waverly Place from Grand Boulevard to Rugby Road William Street from Helderberg Avenue to Guilderland Avenue

What do they call "as long" ?
Why is Eastern Ave being done? It really was not all that long ago that the street was ripped up down to the cobblestone, I'm thinking maybe 20 years, maybe less. They put in new curbs too.

Hooray for the Mayor and City Council. The Renaissance stays on track-- and the best paved roads in the region will be found in our City of Commerce and Prosperity. DESPITE what the naysaying nayboobs have to pronounce on the matter!

Paving roads the cheap way to save money today is merely a political move because the dems know that they will not hold on forever and they figure they'll but the financial burden on future leaders and taxpayers. Wait, there won't be any taxpayers left to pay the bill.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
I was watching them repainting the lines on Erie Blvd the other day, the same quote came to mind as above lipstick on a pig
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot."

Our City, in general, has supremely paved roads.... where they are NOT correctly done (due to the malfeasance of the GOP when they were running the city into the ground) -- they WILL be FIXED.
And THAT is exactly what our wonderful Mayor is doing.

How is redoing roads the cheap, poor quality way, good?
Yes, that mayor is spending the taxpayers' money downtown (which is NOT helping the city one bit), instead of spending the money on good quality long lasting paving jobs.
If the mayor and the dems had not been WASTING money on downtown, then they would not be in the $5 mil hole they are in now, and they would have the money to pay for a quality, long lasting road paving job

Does the city paint the lines on the road? Well someone was painting them today on the roads that are supposed to be paved soon. Union Ave, Wendel and Rugby. Smartys working for the city! Working together works.
