Doesn't look like they "battled" that fire much.  Looks like they are letting her burn a little more.

They might as well. If I were a fireman, I wouldn't risk breaking a sweat, no less an injury to try and save a building that will never ever be rehabbed, and is actually a health hazard, and a danger to the community.
Better it burns down now, when they know that there aren't any squatters or whatever sleeping inside.

Those vacant buildings, particularly the ones that have no chance of being fixed and occupied are a huge fire threat.  One big problem is the expense of tearing them down - think the figure is somewhere aroung $25k.

I wonder if the jobs are opened up to bids, I'm sure there are some salvage companies who could do it for cheaper than 25K.

Another AND another this afternoon.  two fires today. Wait, forget I said that.   It didn't really happen.    The FACTS, the TRUTHS must be kept secret. .

Fires at both 942 State AND 738 Albany St at the same time. Scotia and Carmen have to be called in as SFD is overwhelmed. Of course, nothing unusual here. This is happening in every NE City? No reason to actually do anything. McMayor has a plan....called in suburban firefighters! The City is in free fall and these DEM morons refuse to pull the ripcord. Higher taxes will solve everything!

Ironically, Scotia, Carman and RFD2 are all volunteers - brought in to supplement a PAID workforce.

This is further evidence of DEM amazing turn around! Churches closed, Catholic schools closed, City $6 MILLION in debt, 700 homes foreclosed by McMayor for failure to pay his insane DEM taxes, fires start in abandoned property, resale price implosion and the failure to reassess at the lower market value. Keep the implosion going! No need to change anything over there- lol.

SCHENECTADY - Firefighters are offering a $500 reward for information about a series of suspicious fires that have hit the city in recent weeks.

The reward for information leading to the arrest of someone for setting fires comes after two more suspicious fires hit vacant buildings on Monday. The blazes were the latest in a series of fires investigators suspect were deliberately set.

A demolition crew has already leveled 946 State St., which was gutted by the blaze on Monday. Fire Chief Michael Dellarocco said a fire at 738 Albany St., caused minor damage.

So the one on Albany St. where a man's body found last year, a building that has burned in the past and again yesterday will be left standing, why? Oh yeah this is Hamilton Hill what was I thinking

Of course they can, however we all know ho efficient government is, and when they do something it cost fivefold what the private sector pays. Duhhhhh.

Gee, arson fire on the evening of a holiday in a city with a paid fire fighting force.  Can someone say "rack up the holiday / overtime pay?"  And there's a question if these are arson?

Maybe they already received it, or are sitting in some position, such as on the Metroplex board, that they wouldn't be able to receive it?  Looking for new locations to improve?
