Patches I wrote something about this under the thread "not paying taxes" There are alot of slum/absentee landlords for sure on the list, but some are families who worked hard and just fell on hard times. And some on the list have passed away. Some just give up.
The property owners are the victims and the city government is the perpetrator. Not the other way around. Don't allow the government propaganda to turn the oppressed property owners into the bad guy. I'm not a fan of Popalizio, but don't turn him into the cause of the City's mismanagement.
This is happening in every Northeast City aka renaissanceville. Over 700 foreclosures that according to McMayor are all evil landlords. The City DEMS morons are now throwing women and children into the street for failure to pay their DEM insane taxes. But they care a lot and have only good intentions. All the chickens have come home to roost in Camden North. No need for layoffs or to end the City vehicle fleet/free phone plan. Keep the DEM implosion going!
Thank GOD that we have an astute Mayor and a hard - working fiscal team to solve this minor crisis..... I expect the Nayboobs to continue to make issues up where there are NO issues..
So Ham, what do you say? YOUR "astute" mayor will be foreclosing on homeowners who are struggling financially while trying to pay the taxes of the millionaires downtown!!!!!!!!!!!
But I guess the FACT that YOUR "astute" mayor who even as a councilman supported raising taxes on the homeowners in order to exempt the wealth downtown from paying taxes, which is now causing homeowners to lose their homes --- AS I HAVE SAID FOR WELL IN EXCESS OF A YEAR AND NOW IT IS COMING TO FRUITION -- but, Ham, based on what YOU say, it's a non issue, right?
What is your reaction to the news, the FACTS that YOUR "astute" mayor is solving this "minor" crisis by putting stealing the homes of the financially struggling homeowners (after he stole their money to cover the tax bills of the downtown properties)
Well, do you think it's good that homeowners ARE losing their homes?
Of course, your response will be an obscenity because you are much too embarrassed to admit that the dem policies of making the homeowners pay the taxes of the rich downtown really was not a good idea and it IS hurting the city.

and in less than 10 years the Democrats have turned things around and are moving in the right direction
So DV, is the taking of homes of long time owners who are struggling to pay the taxes -- because the DEMS forced them to pay the taxes of the wealthy friends and family downtown-- you call that "moving in the right direction" ???
YOU, DV, have been supporting the taxpayer funded building of residential units in a city which already has an overabundance of EXISTING VACANT units and houses. And you state that the dems have "turned.....and are moving in the right direction." Obviously, that means that YOU are saying that the FACT that the mayor is increasing the supply of EXISTING VACANT residential units/houses by taking people's homes after making them pay for the new government condo's, is a good thing, right?
People work, save money, buy a house, pay the mortgage, spend money to fix their house up to create a nice home for their families to enjoy, and they when they can't afford to pay the taxes of the downtown friends and family club, you think taking their homes is appropriate, it's "moving in the right direction"
Now we know why you favor bondage.

The City of Schenectady itself is on that list Apparently it owes over $85k on a property at 2504 Van Vranken. I wish CH18 didn't feel the need to have that stupid seal spinning in the background, it's very distracting. They could stand to lose the goofy music too.
As taxes continue to rise, landlords can no longer afford the upkeep on the homes that they have rented out. The city sees it as an opportunity to unleash code enforcement on them to speed up the foreclosure process.
They have created an environment where home ownership is no longer sustainable in the city.
As they finish taking all the homes will the last homeowners each pay a million dollars a year in taxes, to keep downtown afloat?
