Does anyone know when they are having the Woodlawn garage sales? I heard they were coming up soon I'm just not to sure as what days.

Watch, McC will probably start charging all kinds of fees for garage sales, needs the money. Of course, he doesn't want to tax the wealthy and politically connected.

It's actually spelled out in the town code that a permit is required and you can only have two garage sales at the same location per 12 month period. There is a house in our neighborhood that keeps all the junk in their garage and drags it out for sale at least once a month during the summer months. Code enforcement probably doesn't work on the weekends...so who is going to stop the offenders.
House near here has had a car in the driveway, with 4 flat tires, NY plates on it, unregistered, uninsured, for at LEAST 5 years. It's not 10' from the street. The roof of the house is caving in, has no power (NIMO - before National Grid even disconnected it at the pole), and NO running water - at all. There's one "disturbed" person living in it - and taxes haven't been paid in YEARS ... yet not one thing is being done to clean it up, get the guy help or remove the car.
It's been there 24-7, and not once have we seen a code enforcement officer come to the house.
Code enforcement probably doesn't work on the weekends...so who is going to stop the offenders.
I would hope the city has better things to do then to start cracking down on garage sales, do we want things to get this bad

Uh................this is nothing new it's been in effect for at least 15 years, my sister and I may be the only two idiots who took the time to get a permit.....

You're not the only one. When I throw a garage sale, we get one. Also, the garage sales we went to this weekend had them, too. They have to be posted *CONSPICUOUSLY*, just in case someone feels like doing the work of checking. That way they don't have to get out of their car to enforce it.

I've been seeing a lot of "Estate sales" advertised..................wonder if that's a way of avoiding the permit?......................what's the fee these days?..........does the town floozie er.....clerk know how to issue one?.................wonder if she knows how to issue a fishing license?..........'course at $30 a pop I won't be getting one any time soon.......
