Are you looking forward to more reduction in the TAXABLE tax base?
Are you looking forward to the city taxes being not "almost the highest" in the whole country, but to being actually the highest in the whole country? Are you looking forward to everyone moving out of the city?
Are you looking forward to the city going bankrupt?
>

The City is bankrupt because of DVR's morons. "Improved" bus station for the 10 bus passengers a day. Lower State Street is a total knock down zone. Now even the Model Trains store is vacant. So is Olender's after 110 years. State Theatre collapsing while Death Ray looks the other way. Death Ray strikes again! But a better park for Y homeless with modern station to panhandle. Only in Schenectady-Camden, NJ NORTH!

The negative posts are just "sour grapes" and ignorant rantings made by Republicans who ran the city and county into the ground ---- and are now jealous that Democrats are turning things around and making Schenectady County a 21st Century RENAISSANCE community.

The only negative being spewed here is your near-sighted approach.  It's shows it's just an extension of how you handle planning requests for the town...near sighted...does it have anything to do with the fact that you don't care becuase as you've stated, you plan to retire and mvoe away from Rotterdam/Schdy anyway?  In other words you have no roots or ties so you could care less about the future of our town/city/county!!!!

In your quote above you state, "...Democrats are turning things around...."

Yep, DV, you ARE CORRECT!   The Democrats ARE turning things around.    They are turning the TAXABLE tax base around, they are lowering the TAXABLE tax base.   They are turning around the property values---high values have been turned around into low values.     I can't say they turned around the taxes on the homeowners, because the taxes were high, the Democrats have just made the taxes go higher.   Yes, the Democrats have turned things around---for the downtown businesses they have turned things from them having tax liability to no tax liability.   They have turned things around---where Schenectady once was a desirable place to live, they have turned it around to a city where people are putting their homes up in record numbers in order to flee the city, turned it around to a city where some people are just abandoning their property in order to get out of the city.

But you also say, "...and are now jealous..."

Jealous?    Who is jealous or plummeting property values?   Huh?      Can you tell us DV, can you name one, EVEN ONE PERSON, who is jealous of having almost the highest taxes in the whole country?      Who would be jealous of city leaders that cause the TAXABLE tax base to go down?

Since you've already responded with nonsense babble with no evidence to support your statement, I guess you STILL will not answer the questions.   Guess now you'll be spewing your obscenities, yes?

It is true..........the dems turned the city around.............

Leaving the city with one of the highest taxed in the country.
Leaving the city with people walking away from their over taxed under valued homes.
Leaving the city with historic crime rates, drug dealers and gangs.
Leaving the city with a sub-standard school system.
Leaving the city with more people on welfare...historically.
Leaving the city BROKE.
Leaving the city with more non-profits....historically.
Leaving the city with crumbling infrastructure.
Leaving the city with a bloated, overpaid, taxpaid government.

.........and to think this was all accomplished with the blood, sweat and money of the overburdened taxpayers!
So what exactly has the overburdened taxpayers received as relief in return? NOTHING!

SUCCESS!!

The taxpayers have to pay for 'private businesses property improvements'?
It appears that private businesses aren't doing so well in schenectady, since they can't afford to keep up their property/buildings and must rely on taxpayer's money.

And yet the taxpayers have to pay for 'their own'  property improvements AND for the improvements of private businesses!

Wonder how much the ceo of Adirondack trailways makes????

Just below N. Lake on Central Ave in Albany is a Chinese restuarant that takes you to Chinatown or 31st in Manhattan for 5 dollars.

They offer NYC to Orlando for $50.

The FACT is that the high taxes, crumbling infrastructure and other problems are a DIRECT RESULT of FAILED REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATIONS at the local, county, state and national levels of government.   The Republicans presided when we lost ALCO completely and lost over 35,000 jobs at GE.  Taxes went up from the late 1950's through the early 2000's UNDER REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATIONS.

Oh, I didn't know Karen Johnson was a republican?

I trust you can provide the EVIDENCE of the taxes?????   You can cite the year by year tax BILLs, right?

Just like your CLAIM of tax RATES in Schdy county being the lowest since the 1950's -- but YOU CAN'T PROVIDE ONE TEENY WEENY SHRED OF EVIDENCE.----you made that statement so long ago, yet you REFUSE, ABSOLUTEY TOTALLY REFUSE to provide any EVIDENCE whatsoever -- just a HUGE BIG FAT LIE    Of course, as you have NEVER been a taxpayers, you don't remember Karen Johnson's tax hike of something like 25%.   And of course, in one year alone, Stratton imposed a new fee which caused tax BILLs to increase about 30%

Of course there was Kennedy and Johnson.   Oh yeah, let's not forget Roosevelt and all the government handout programs.   Carter was so bad he only made it one term.   And let's not forget President Hillary and her husband who wanted socialized medicine which your current beloved pres is tryinbg to shove down our throats too.   Oh yes, let's not forget Hillary's husband working with Andy Cuomo in the "we must increase home ownership" and so they started giving out money left and right to people to buy homes who could not afford them, FHA mortgages with no money down--yes, we see where that got us.

Taxes went UP UP UP UP UP UP and property values went DOWN DOWN DOWN since 2003!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The TAXABLE tax base has gone DOWN since 2003!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the FACT is that people are fleeing the city in record numbers, at least TRYING to flee the city as PROVEN by the HUGE HUGE HUGE numbers of houses for sale.

And the FACT is that people are NOT buying homes IN the city as PROVEN by the extreme desperate measure taken by this lame brain mayor who is trying to put new homeowners "underwater" before they even spend one day in their home (mortgage balances higher than the house value)---but YOU wouldn't know about things like that since you have NEVER been a homeowner and thus know nothing about mortgages and home value.   Yes, this ACT OF DESPERATION by the mayor holding these taxpayer subsidized bus tours to open houses -- which of course is NOT getting people to buy anyway - WASTE of taxpayer dollars!.

You just can't handle the TRUTH.

it was a generation that changed it.....NOT the political party....if it was the political party then the generation that allowed them access to do what
