After watching our region coming to a stop yesterday for our nations President and listening to his remarks.

Our local leaders should be shopping for a Chip Packaging Company and a location in the Town of Rotterdam.

Currently Global Foundries will ship very sensitive wafers populated with microprocessors costing tens of tthousands of dollars halfway around the world to India to be packaged.

To me this is an opportunity our leaders should capitalize on.

Tell it to your friends in Town Hall, I am sure they are listening.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Sounds like a Galesi/Metroplex free tax, sweetheart, family and friends deal!

Here's a positive economic idea for us taxpayers. How about people in the public works department at town hall stop doing their "school work" on town time and town computers that we are paying for? Would you support that idea?

The town of "Rot"terdam sits on
Two National Interstates
One National Rail Line
One Regional Rail Line
One State Wide Fiere Backbone
One National Fiber Backbone
has a Under Utilized GE Turbine Power Generation Station
The New York State Canal way
is with in 10 miles to 2 Airports capable of handling Boeing's largest cargo planes

And still no one has as clue - not an inkling of what could be accomplished.

Our Town Planners have no concept of live where you work or how to even leverage it.

I got involved because I was done with my town looking like the inside of a septic tank and the Attorney's supporting "development" and spewing the crap about how much more expensive it is to provide proper green space and aesthetically pleasing architecture around new development.

I started on the right as they seemed receptive, I took the time to shake hands and even get invited to the "Reagan Dinner" two years ago when i asked the Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos where based on the facts above he, his party and the GOP lead
Senate stood on economic development to which i was told "I have no answer" - to this day i still have not gotten one, and n the process or running for office on my own, pissed off the left.

In my opinion I would favor a busines town property tax rebate plan if and only if it was attached to a mandatory wage and home ownership in the town - you want the plan, 50% of your employees must receive $50,000/yr in wages and the same group must
reside within the town for the term of the plan which would be reviewed yearly - this would be for all business not just new ones.

The property taxes paid by the owner of a building valued at $1,000,000 results in the lowering of my taxes by about  $1 for town taxes, thus the impact is minimal

It is the spending of income that is key to the local economy  - this is why the metroplex BS is pegged to sales tax.

The movement of money is the key to a successful economy regardless of the amount of taxes paid.

This town cannot support another restaurant, grocery store or bank no matter how many residential units the town planners approve without paying jobs to pay the rent.

What deal is done is not important so long as jobs without a 10 or 15 year sunset happen in this town - 40 years of nothing is too long.

I am not a favorite of the Democrat, Republican or Conservative families in this town - because I choose to stand up to them and ask questions.

The two major parties in "Rot"terdam fight like cocks in a cage fight over who will get a part-time job or a retirement package while the third comforts the winner at the end and pads his pockets with the winnings from the party members betting.

The party members just don't get it, the HOUSE ALWAYS WINS

TKOZA makes a plea for change...

The statements made by Susie Q are not in  the best interest of this Town.....MG long gone....the plaintiff still on the job..

..move on to better the town...instead of GOSSIP 101

TKOZA is either a plant to throw the residents a carrot....or is getting ready to really make a bid for change....

To support the latter would make a difference and begin to give back the Town to the residents.....

Is T KOZA sincere???

How would your economic proposal benefit the municipal workers in the town and county and those who serve in local government?

TKoza you've got the good beginnings.  Have you ever seen this website for Troy NY properties?  Maybe something with a little pop could help people sell Rotterdam's real estate potential.    http://troybid.org/available-property-listings.html

THis person can't be a government plant, having an actual idea.  Yey for ideas!  It's a good one.
When you factor in the rail system in this town, you got a winner if u ask me.

I don't spell check!  Sorry...
If you include "No offense" in a statement, chances are, your statement is offensive.

Along with the rail system we have an industrial park with rail access, the Thruway and I88 which are both close but still companies are either prevented from building or don't want to build here. The question is why???
