I've always found those NY Dept of Health 'fish' warnings a waste of time for me. If I had to survive on only the fish that I caught... I'd a starved long ago.
...............................I haven't fished since the cost of a license went to $30......................but when I did I caught plenty just never ate 'em............................last time I ate fish I caught was when I was 14 catching trout in Beckers Brook behind Schalmont High School..................but I digress............still wondering if the Waters Edge and the banquet house are metroplex funded..................anybody?
Funding of these projects is one issue, but the other real concern is why is anyone considering building in an area which was recently flooded. Really? Did we learn nothing!?
What precautions have been put into place to prevent rising waters at this Glenville location? What potential 'sea walls' ('river walls') are deemed to be constructed? I mean, are we really so stupid as to forget a few months ago?
Oh wait, Stratton is the Canal man now! Yeah, we're all safe here.

And I say why not. As long as you know the risk and are willing to accept the consequences and aren't looking for taxpayers to give you money then go for it. And I'm also pretty sure any damages he may have suffered from the last flood, and wasn't that considered to be an extraordinary (100 yr.) event that may not happen again, were minimal. Why not add to the tax base? Why not at least try? I can understand when we're critical of projects done on taxpayers backs but I'm less likely to agree when a proposed project by a private investor is criticized. And if it does get built and then gets washed away, well his problem, not ours. Just sayin'.
Looks like Glenville is 'very very very' business friendly! Glenville is clearly the only township is schenectady county that 'does it right'!

well, there's too many in the city now .. and too many pizza places, fast food joints, car repair centers, used car dealers, beverage centers, grocery stores (in that area), and dollar stores. The last thing we want to encourage is free enterprise after all.
