Hope you're stating this TIC, as this WOULD be affected... unless you think that the people who work paving roads, teaching kids, proving the water, or enabling the fire or police protection never get any benefits, you know, like medical coverage that would be paid for by premiums from their paychecks or paid by their bosses. (Guess it was a little more difficult to figure out than you thought, huh?)

OH! So you join Cicero's thinking that if Doctors lowered their rates, that some how roads would be paved,
teachers would be paid and safe water, fire and police protection would suddenly, miraculously appear???

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

No, what I'm saying is that those people who do those jobs already have the money coming out of their checks to pay for the insurance.  What I am saying is if the insurance rates were lower, or they weren't insured, then it may not cost as much to get these jobs done, but they EARN these PRIVELEDGES and have DECIDED to get them as part of their PACKAGE.  And actually, what I would say is that it's not the doctors that need to lower the rates, but the colleges need to lower theirs, so that the doctors will feel free to lower theirs, after paying off their student loans so much sooner.
