That's what you hear from the boys in blue outside the city!! This consolidation has nothing to due about saving money and everything to do with sending the boys in blue outside of the burbs!

How many layers of law enforcement are mandated? Sheriffs? Local? State?

Answer?

None are mandated.

Commissioners viewed as outsiders - actually it's beena  mixed bag.  Mills was unpopular with some but he made teh most changes.

Boyle - Not unpopular with the officers

Bennett - I don't think he was that unpop[ular, most officesr just wanted the end of all the drame and embarrassment.

Many union members would not want the command level jobs because the non-union people are vulnerable.  For the most part,  they see teh command staff getting jerked around and think if they get to the rank of Lt. they can make the same if not more money, get more vacation, and are not as
vulnerable to the politicians.

officers probably try not to live where they work (especially) in a redneck city like Schenectady....HOWEVER, the political
redlining goes on and on and on and on.....all in the name of "I really really really do care for you, and to show you how
much I care, I'm going to go to your neighbor and demand a cup of sugar for you because their pile is bigger than yours."

Tonko and fools couldn't make fellow humans feel any more like poor sad victims.....pathetic (not compassionate) leadership
strips humans of their 'SELF'.....especially when they use the guise of the likes of 'buster law' or any other law that elevates
a few folks hardships into some kind of badge of honor as fodder for election time......

shame shame shame on the leadership

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Actually, state law does mandate that the county have a sheriff's department and that the city have a police department.
